The Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 15W targets users who don’t want to carry a brick in their backpack but also need backup power for their phone. With a price of 1,299 CZK, it is a more premium product that primarily relies on compact dimensions and magnetic attachment. Thinner than most phones The main draw of the new product is undoubtedly its thickness of just 6 mm and weight of 98 grams. Xiaomi itself compares the weight to two eggs, which, while a humorous marketing comparison, clearly illustrates how light the device is. The power bank has dimensions roughly equivalent to a credit card, so it easily fits into a trouser pocket or a small handbag. The body is made of an aluminum alloy, which feels premium and also ensures sufficient durability. Rounded corners and a smooth surface contribute to a comfortable grip. Xiaomi offers the power bank in several color variants that match the Xiaomi 17 series phones. Wireless and wired charging The power bank supports magnetic wireless charging with up to 15 W of power, however, this maximum output is only available for Xiaomi 17 series phones. iPhone owners must settle for 7.5 W, which corresponds to the MagSafe standard. Other devices with Qi charging support will then receive power corresponding to their capabilities. For those who prefer classic wired charging, there is a USB-C port with up to 22.5 W of power. A practical feature is the ability to charge two devices simultaneously – one wirelessly and the other via cable. To activate this function, you need to press the button on the power bank once. Capacity for one full charge Inside the ultrathin body is a silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh. Xiaomi states that the battery contains 16% silicon, which allows for higher energy density while maintaining compact dimensions. The rated capacity is 3,000 mAh at 5 V/2 A, which in practice means approximately one full charge of a typical smartphone. With a battery energy of 18.58 Wh, the power bank meets the requirements for air travel – the limit is 100 Wh. You can therefore safely take it with you in your carry-on luggage on vacation. Who is the power bank suitable for? The Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 15W is an ideal choice for users looking for a truly compact backup power source and who don’t need to charge their phone multiple times a day. However, even through its promotional materials, the manufacturer indicates that it is trying to appeal more to iPhone owners than to Android models. It’s no wonder, given that besides Apple devices, only Google’s Pixel 10 has integrated magnets – the Samsung Galaxy S26 series ultimately did not get them, despite expectations.
