Xiaomi's first over-ear headphones are coming to the Czech Republic. They will get ANC and 72h battery life, we know the price

In the audio accessories sector, Xiaomi has so far focused almost exclusively on wireless earbuds like Redmi Buds or the more premium Xiaomi Buds. However, that is slowly changing. The historically first over-ear headphones from this manufacturer will soon arrive on the Czech market, and we have found out how much domestic interested parties will pay for them. According to two sources, the price tag for the Redmi Headphones Neo is set at 1,590 CZK, which is slightly more than earlier leaks from abroad suggested. Based on those, we expected a price around 1,250 CZK.

40mm drivers and ANC up to 42 dB

The sound reproduction is handled by 40mm dynamic drivers with a titanium-coated diaphragm, covering a frequency range from 20 Hz to 40 kHz. When connected via USB-C cable, the headphones also support Hi-Res Audio, allowing you to enjoy higher quality listening even in wired mode.

The main attraction, however, is active noise cancellation, which can suppress ambient noise by up to 42 decibels. Three intensity levels are available, complemented by an adaptive mode that adjusts the suppression level automatically according to the current environment. For phone calls, Xiaomi has implemented a triple microphone system with AI noise reduction, which, according to the manufacturer, is designed to suppress wind noise at speeds up to 5 m/s.

Up to 72 hours battery life and Bluetooth 5.4

Power is provided by a 600mAh battery, which, with ANC off, should last up to 72 hours of playback. This is a value that few other competitors in this price category can match. If you still run out of power, fast charging helps – just 10 minutes plugged in will give you another 5 hours of listening. According to Xiaomi, a full charge takes less than two hours.

Wireless connectivity is handled by modern Bluetooth 5.4 with a range of up to 10 meters. The headphones support multipoint, allowing you to pair them simultaneously with, for example, a phone and a laptop, as well as Google Fast Pair for quick connection to Android devices. Through the Xiaomi Earbuds app, you can adjust the equalizer or install firmware updates; an audio sharing function is also available for sharing audio with two headphones at once.

Who are the Redmi Headphones Neo suitable for?

With a weight of 263 grams and dimensions of 202 × 183 × 47 millimeters, the Redmi Headphones Neo are among the lighter over-ear models, which will be appreciated by anyone who intends to wear them for extended periods. In the box, interested parties will find only the headphones and a user manual; Xiaomi does not include a USB-C or 3.5mm jack cable in the package.

Despite the lower price, it’s fair to mention the compromises. The headphones do not support premium codecs like LDAC or aptX HD, so the most demanding audiophiles will likely look elsewhere and prefer more expensive models.

However, for the average user who is satisfied with solid ANC, long battery life, and the ability to connect to multiple devices simultaneously, they are still an interesting choice. Compared to competitors like Sony WH-CH720N or JBL Tune 770NC, which are in a similar price range in the Czech Republic, the Redmi Headphones Neo can primarily offer longer battery life and a higher level of noise cancellation on paper. The true verdict, however, will only come after an actual test.
