Xiaomi shocks! The newly unveiled electric car travels up to 902 km and charges in 15 minutes Home News Xiaomi introduced a new generation of the SU7 electric sedan in three versions with prices starting from 219,900 RMB (approximately 700,000 CZK) The range of the top Pro version is up to 902 km according to the Chinese CLTC methodology, charging for 670 km of range takes only 15 minutes The sedan is intended exclusively for the Chinese market, but it shows the direction Xiaomi is taking in the automotive world Sdílejte: Jakub Kárník Published: 24. 3. 2026 15:30 Advertisement We already reported in detail on the new generation of the Xiaomi SU7 electric sedan in January, when the company officially unveiled the car. Now, Xiaomi has sent out a complete press release that adds a number of details – from final prices and a new assisted driving architecture to specific interior material solutions. Three versions, nine colors, one goal Range over 900 km and charging in 15 minutes Interior with perfume and magnetic points Chassis with proprietary software and intelligent braking Assisted driving with the ambition to understand the world Safety and interior on par with more expensive sedans Not coming to Europe, but worth noting Three versions, nine colors, one goal The new SU7 maintains the proportions of a luxury C-segment sedan – 5 meters long, 2 meters wide, 3 meters wheelbase. The design has undergone evolution rather than revolution: the characteristic water-drop shaped headlights and ring-shaped rear light strip return, but a completely redesigned front grille with an integrated 4D millimeter-wave radar has been added, and three new color shades (Coastal Blue, Blazing Red, and Viridian Green) complement the existing six. Xiaomi offers three variants – Standard, Pro, and Max – with prices starting from 219,900 RMB (approximately 700,821 CZK), 249,900 RMB (796,431 CZK), and 303,900 RMB (968,529 CZK). The conversion to CZK is only indicative, as the car is not sold in Europe and will not be sold in the foreseeable future. Range over 900 km and charging in 15 minutes All versions use the new Xiaomi HyperEngine V6s Plus electric motor with a maximum speed of 22,000 rpm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.08 seconds, and the top speed is 265 km/h. These are, of course, the values for the top Max version. Where the SU7 impresses most is its range. Thanks to the integrated CTB (Cell-to-Body) battery technology with a volumetric energy density of 83.9%, we achieve 720 km for the Standard version, 902 km for the Pro, and 835 km for the Max (all according to the Chinese CLTC methodology, which tends to be more optimistic than the European WLTP). Consumption is expected to drop to 11.7 kWh/100 km, and ultra-fast charging at 5.2C will replenish energy for 670 km in just 15 minutes. Interior with perfume and magnetic points The press release reveals a number of interior details that were missing in January. The cabin has undergone a complete redesign – Xiaomi states that almost 100% of frequently touched surfaces are covered with soft-touch materials certified according to OEKO-TEX Standard 100. The ambient lighting measures over 3.6 meters and extends from the center console to the rear. An interesting new feature is the collaboration with the perfume brand DOCUMENTS, which supplied three exclusive fragrances for the in-car scent system. The interior also gained nine magnetic points compatible with accessories from the Xiaomi YU7 model, indicating an effort to unify the ecosystem across the model range. Additionally, below the rearview mirror, there is an interface for an optional 4K gimbal camera or an AI spatial interaction sensor. The driver’s seats offer 18-way electric adjustment, an extendable leg rest, and active side bolstering. The rear seats received thicker seat cushioning, concave headrests, and a recline angle of up to 121°. The Max version comes with an electrochromatic panoramic roof with two independent dimming zones. Chassis with proprietary software and intelligent braking Xiaomi Smart Chassis 2.0 combines air suspension with continuously controlled dampers (CDC). The system automatically adjusts the ride height according to GPS location, offers three driving modes (Comfort, Sport, Sport+), and a height-adjustable chassis with a 50 mm range. A steering ratio of 12.5:1 and a turning diameter of 11.4 m promise more agile handling than is typical in this segment. Furthermore, the Max version maintains consistent braking performance even after 40 consecutive braking events from 100 km/h, which Xiaomi presents as a benchmark for its price category. Also new is the Wet Road AI Detection system, which uses rain sensors, microphones, and cameras to evaluate road conditions and automatically adjusts powertrain behavior. Assisted driving with the ambition to understand the world Under the hood of the intelligent features works the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor computing platform with 700 TOPS of performance and a sensor suite including LiDAR, 4D radar, eleven cameras, and twelve ultrasonic sensors. Xiaomi introduces a new XLA architecture, which aims to shift assisted driving from merely imitating learned patterns to a deeper understanding of the surrounding environment. The foundation is the Xiaomi MiMo-Embodied model, which unifies knowledge from the fields of assisted driving and robotics. In practice, this means voice-controlled lane changes, real-time risk prediction, and automatic navigation in parking garages down to a specific spot. How well this works in real-world operation is, of course, a question – Chinese companies tend to present the best possible scenario. Safety and interior on par with more expensive sedans The body is made of over 90% ultra-high-strength steel with a strength of 2,200 MPa and aluminum alloys. Nine airbags are standard, along with a mechanical door opening system with independent power, which functions even after the 12V battery is disconnected in an accident. The battery pack is protected on all sides and meets the highest safety level ASIL-D. The interior has undergone a complete redesign – premium materials (almost 100% of touched surfaces are covered with soft-touch finishes), ambient lighting measuring 3,636 mm, electrically adjustable seats with ventilation and heating as standard, and an onboard refrigerator with its own compressor. The infotainment runs on Xiaomi HyperOS with the XiaoAi voice assistant and full compatibility with the Xiaomi ecosystem. Not coming to Europe, but worth noting Xiaomi explicitly states that the SU7 series is not intended for sale outside mainland China. Nevertheless, it is worth watching how far the company has come in just two years since entering the automotive industry. A sedan with a range of over 900 km, charging for hundreds of kilometers in a quarter of an hour, and a complete ecosystem connecting phone, car, and home – this is an ambitious vision that could shake things up in Europe.
