Xiaomi Smart Lock is now available on Alza! The price is favorable, and Matter and Google Home support are welcome.

Have you ever lost your keys? Or wondered how to let visitors in when you’re not home? The Xiaomi Self-Install Smart Lock solves exactly these situations. And now you can get it on Alza, which for many means more convenient delivery and pickup at an AlzaBox.

No locksmith, no drilling

Most smart locks require a complete replacement of the entire mechanism. Xiaomi chose a different path – their lock simply attaches to the cylinder you already have in your door. You secure it with screws or double-sided tape, and you’re done. The entire installation takes a few minutes, and you don’t need any special tools.

This approach has one crucial advantage: in a rented apartment or tenement house, you don’t have to deal with the landlord’s consent or interfere with common areas. When you move, you simply remove the lock and take it with you.

Five ways to open the door

Just keep your phone in your pocket, and the door will unlock via Bluetooth. Not home and need to let someone in? Remote unlocking via Wi-Fi works great. The version with a keypad adds a fingerprint reader and the option to enter PIN codes – permanent for family, one-time for visitors, or time-limited for a cleaning service, for example.

And if all else fails, you still have a classic key as a backup. You’ll also need it for the initial setup of the lock. However, the version from Alza does not have a keypad.

Matter means freedom

Xiaomi has opted for the Matter protocol, which is good news for anyone who already has a smart ecosystem at home. The lock works with Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa. You can control it by voice, include it in automations, or track unlocking history in the app you already use.

The Xiaomi Home app itself then offers a detailed overview – who unlocked and when, alerts for suspicious access attempts, or notifications if someone removes the keypad from the wall.

What you should know beforehand

Before ordering, measure your key. It must not be thicker than 5 mm and must not protrude more than 37 mm after insertion into the cylinder. Most European cylinders meet these conditions, but it’s better to verify.

The battery lasts about half a year with normal use and recharges via USB-C. The operating range of -10 to +55 °C handles Czech conditions without problems. And an important note: this is not a security feature against thieves. It serves for convenience, not as a replacement for quality security.

The basic version costs 2,499 CZK, while the version with a keypad and fingerprint reader costs 2,999 CZK. The price matches the official Mi Store, but the advantage of buying on Alza is its network of pickup points and established service.
