We wrote about the new TV S Pro 2027 series of televisions a few days ago, but back then Xiaomi kept the specific numbers under wraps. Now, however, it has supplemented the more detailed specifications, and it is evident that we have something to look forward to. The new products will offer RGB Mini LED backlighting, brightness up to 5000 nits, and a refresh rate reaching 360 Hz.

RGB Mini LED adds brightness and thousands of zones

For the new series, Xiaomi relies on backlighting where individual diodes mix colors directly, instead of pushing them through a color filter. According to the manufacturer, this means more accurate color reproduction and, most importantly, higher brightness – the top of the range is expected to reach 5000 nits and cover the entire BT.2020 color space.

More interesting than the brightness itself, however, is the number of zones that can light up independently. The basic sixty-five-inch model has 2160 of them, while the highest variant, according to Xiaomi, will reach up to 4860 zones – last year, the top model ended at 3864. The refresh rate has also shifted, from last year’s 330 to a full 360 Hz.

High frequency will please gamers, but with a condition

The 360 Hz is aimed primarily at gamers, but it will only run at full capacity in a dedicated gaming mode. In 4K resolution, the TV runs at 120 Hz with motion interpolation (MEMC), so the full frequency is more suited for lower resolutions. There is also support for variable refresh rate (VRR) and FreeSync Premium Pro, which are designed to smooth out motion.

What do you get around the picture?

Operation will be handled by a quad-core chip with A73 architecture, supplemented by its own XM900 image processor, with 4 GB of memory and 64 GB of storage. You can connect via four HDMI 2.1 ports and USB 3.0, and sound is handled by a 2.1.2 system with 130 W output tuned by Harman, with Dolby Vision and Atmos support. The system will be HyperOS 4.

When will they be released and reach us?

Reservations in China are already underway, and the full premiere is expected in September. Xiaomi has not yet announced prices, and it is also unclear whether and in what form the series will head to Europe – with the previous generation, it turned out that global variants did not match the Chinese parameters.

Are you tempted by the parameters of the new series, or would you rather wait to see what remains of them in the European version?
