In recent months, Xiaomi has been adding one gaming monitor after another, and has now included another affordable piece in its lineup. The Gaming Monitor G25i 2026 targets esports players with a combination of 240Hz refresh rate and fast response time. However, the Night Vision feature has garnered the most attention so far, as it brightens dark areas of the image. Some players are already half-jokingly calling it a “legal wallhack” directly in the hardware.

Fast panel, but only in Full HD

The monitor is based on a 24.5″ Fast IPS panel with Full HD (1920×1080) resolution and a native 240Hz refresh rate. The manufacturer states a response time of 1 ms (GtG), making it a device tailored for fast-paced action and esports games in terms of speed. The panel supports 178° viewing angles, AMD FreeSync Premium ensures smoothness, and according to Xiaomi, the response time dynamically adapts to the current frame rate, which is intended to reduce ghosting and blurring during fast motion.

Regarding colors and brightness, the monitor covers 100% of the sRGB space and 93% of DCI-P3 with 8-bit color depth and carries DisplayHDR 400 certification with 400 nits brightness and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. This makes it a solid gaming screen, but true HDR cannot be discussed, as DisplayHDR 400 is among the lowest tiers of this certification. The biggest question mark, however, is the resolution. Full HD on 24.5 inches does not appear particularly sharp today, and by 2026, you will commonly find monitors with higher resolutions for similar money.

Night Vision and the question of fairness

The monitor distinguishes itself from competitors with three gaming features. Darkness Enhancement Pro selectively brightens dark areas of the image without overexposing bright scenes, Night Vision is designed to help detect enemies hidden in shadows, and a dynamic crosshair offers five aiming reticle modes directly at the monitor level.

Night Vision, in particular, caught our attention regarding fairness in gaming. Xiaomi describes the function as helping players more quickly detect and target hidden opponents in dark parts of the map. How exactly Night Vision works has not been explained by the manufacturer, so it’s a question whether the potential gaming advantage would be significant enough to be compared to cheating.

Modest equipment reveals where savings were made

Connectivity also suggests this is an affordable model. The monitor features one HDMI 2.0 port, one DisplayPort 1.4, and a 3.5mm headphone output, with HDMI supporting a maximum of Full HD at 240 Hz. The stand is also more economical, allowing only tilt adjustment without height adjustment or rotation. The monitor can alternatively be wall-mounted via a VESA mount, but Xiaomi does not include the bracket in the package.

Among the more pleasant features are thin bezels on three sides, joystick control, and hardware blue light reduction with TÜV Rheinland certification. According to the manufacturer, this reduces the proportion of harmful blue light by 50% without the display turning yellow, as is common with standard software eye protection modes.

How much does it cost and will it come to the Czech Republic?

The monitor has appeared on Xiaomi’s global website, and its European version is already offered by one distributor and a Finnish retailer for approximately 180 euros (around 4,400 CZK converted). However, Xiaomi has not confirmed official prices for individual regions, so consider this amount as indicative. You won’t find the new product yet at Czech retailers, including Alza or Mi Store. Given that Xiaomi commonly sells gaming and office monitors in the Czech Republic, the G25i 2026 model might eventually make its way here.

However, here’s the main catch. If the price in the Czech Republic remains around 4,400 CZK, the monitor faces tough competition. For similar or lower money, you can already find 27″ QHD monitors with 240 Hz and a Fast IPS panel in the Czech Republic, such as the AOC Q27G4ZR (typically around 5,000 CZK, and sometimes under four thousand on sale). Moreover, inexpensive Full HD monitors with 240 Hz start at roughly 2,500 CZK. The Xiaomi G25i 2026 thus makes sense mainly for FPS and esports players who prioritize high refresh rates over image sharpness and do not need a higher resolution for work. Those looking for a more versatile screen will likely choose something else.

For completeness, the new product fits into the broader Xiaomi gaming monitor lineup for 2026. Below it is the cheaper G24i 2026 with a 200Hz refresh rate, and next to it are 27″ models, including a variant with Mini LED backlighting.

Would 240 Hz in Full HD make sense for a gaming monitor under five thousand CZK, or would you rather pay extra for a higher resolution?
