The second generation of Xiaomi’s smart monitor light bar (Mijia Monitor Light Bar 2) relies on asymmetric optics and accurate color reproduction. It aims to illuminate the desk while leaving the display free of distracting glare – however, for now, it’s only targeting the Chinese market.

What the new Mijia monitor light offers

The new product is powered by 108 custom full-spectrum LED diodes and a color rendering index of Ra 96, with which Xiaomi targets users for whom accurate colors are important. According to the manufacturer, the main draw is the new generation of asymmetric optics – which sends light forward onto the desk and keyboard, but aims to minimize screen glare.

Compared to its predecessor, the bar has grown. It features an extended 50-centimeter body and a redesigned triangular mount, which is designed to fit a wider range of monitors. Xiaomi did not specify the exact lux brightness, color temperature range, or power consumption at the Chinese launch; we will add them as soon as the manufacturer publishes the complete specifications.

Control and smart home

According to Xiaomi, both brightness and color temperature can be adjusted continuously, without fixed steps, even with a wireless remote control – so you don’t have to fumble for a button on the lamp’s body. The light also connects to the Xiaomi HyperConnect ecosystem, meaning it should be connectable with other smart products from the brand.

Price and availability

The Mijia Monitor Light Bar 2 will launch in crowdfunding on the Xiaomi Youpin platform on July 15, 2026 for an initial price of 259 yuan, which is approximately 810 CZK. The new product is currently exclusively for the Chinese market, and we have no information regarding later global availability.

Would you appreciate a monitor light that leaves the screen glare-free?
