Xiaomi unveiled a super-slim magnetic power bank with both wireless and wired output

Chinese technology giant Xiaomi has globally unveiled its new magnetic power bank, the Super Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5000. The device stands out primarily for its extremely thin design with a thickness of just 8.7 mm, representing a reduction of more than 27% compared to the previous model. The power bank is available in four elegant colors: gold, purple, blue, and black, with the body made of high-quality aluminum with precisely crafted details.

Impressively Slim Design and Magnet Strength

The new power bank boasts not only a minimalist construction but also a system of 17 neodymium magnetic cores, providing a holding force of up to 10 N. This ensures secure attachment even in more demanding conditions. The magnets are optimized for use with the iPhone 12 series and newer models (excluding iPhone 16e), but the power bank can also be used with compatible Android phones (for future owners of smartphone series like Google Pixel 10, this could be a handy accessory).

The device’s body has undergone meticulous processing. The manufacturer reportedly used precision sandblasting and diamond cutting for a perfect appearance. The magnetic surface panel utilizes a lightweight and durable fiberglass board enhanced with a vacuum-pressed pattern. The rounded G3 edges ensure comfortable grip and easy attachment to the device.

What About Performance?

With its thin construction, the power bank offers a capacity of only 5,000 mAh, so it serves more as a last resort than a full-fledged power source for long journeys. Xiaomi states that the battery will retain more than 80% of its capacity even after 300 charging cycles.

The device supports dual charging mode – wired with a maximum output of 22.5 W and wireless with support for 5 W, 7.5 W, 10 W, and 15 W depending on the compatibility of the connected device. Furthermore, it allows simultaneous charging of two devices – one wirelessly and the other via cable.

Safety First

Xiaomi has paid significant attention to safety features. The power bank is equipped with two NTC sensors that monitor temperature up to 12,000 times per minute. For efficient heat dissipation, an 826 mm² graphene layer is used, ensuring even heat distribution across the entire surface.

In total, the device offers nine layers of safety protection, including protection against overheating, short circuit, overvoltage, over-discharge, and many others. Thanks to its low total capacity of 19.35 Wh, the power bank is also suitable for air travel according to international aviation standards.

The Xiaomi Super Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5000 is compatible with a wide range of devices supporting PD2.0, PD3.0 (PPS), QC2.0, QC3.0, QC3+, BC1.2, AFC, and FCP protocols, including the latest models from Xiaomi, Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Honor, and other brands.
