Xiaomi is expanding its audio accessories portfolio with a new portable speaker that will especially please travelers and outdoor enthusiasts. The Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker Essential has appeared on the manufacturer’s global website, indicating its imminent launch on European markets. In terms of design and technical parameters, it strikingly resembles the Redmi Bluetooth Speaker 2, which the Chinese company introduced in September last year on its domestic market.

Compact Body with Textile Surface

The Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker Essential features a round design with the upper half wrapped in a fine textile mesh, which provides a pleasant tactile feel while protecting the internal components. The speaker weighs only 200 grams, making it an ideal companion for travel, excursions, or relaxing in the garden. The color scheme combines contrasting elements with a glossy accent strip, giving the device a more modern look.

Dual Drivers for Fuller Sound

Inside the compact body is a 1.5-inch full-range speaker with 5 W output, complemented by a large passive radiator. Of course, one cannot expect miracles from it – the volume will likely be lower, and the quality probably won’t be exceptional, but we can certainly still talk about an upgrade compared to your phone’s integrated speakers. To enhance low frequencies, Xiaomi mentions a bass boost function.

Bluetooth 6.0 and Pairing up to 10 Speakers

From a connectivity perspective, the speaker uses Bluetooth 6.0, which promises fast pairing and stable transmission. An interesting feature is the option for stereo pairing of two speakers to create left and right channels, or connecting up to 10 units for synchronized playback. Simply press the Bluetooth button on each speaker three times, and the devices will pair automatically.

The speaker can also be connected via USB-C to a computer or tablet. It also supports hands-free calling with the option to answer a call with a single touch.

10-Hour Battery Life and Water Resistance

The built-in 1,000mAh battery is claimed by Xiaomi to last up to 10 hours of playback at 40% volume. At maximum volume, the battery life drops to approximately 2.5 hours. Charging occurs via USB-C, with neither the cable nor the adapter included in the package.

For outdoor use, IP66 certification is important, allowing the speaker to withstand dust and light rain. However, Xiaomi warns that this is not professional waterproofing and the device should not be charged in a humid environment.

When Will It Arrive in the Czech Republic?

Xiaomi has not yet disclosed the price or specific availability date for European markets. Given that the speaker is already listed on the global website, its launch can be expected in the coming weeks or months. According to our estimate, it could cost around four hundred crowns.
