The robot vacuum cleaner market has changed beyond recognition in recent years. While a few years ago they were relatively primitive helpers, today’s top models boast AI navigation, mechanical arms, and suction power that would have seemed like science fiction not long ago. Xiaomi has now unveiled its most ambitious model to date in China, the Mijia Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 Max, which is intended to be the most capable representative of the entire Mijia ecosystem.

35,000 Pa Suction Power and Continuous Mop Washing

The main draw of the new vacuum cleaner is its 35,000 Pa suction power, allowing it to tackle even the most stubborn dirt. Compared to common mid-range models, which range around 5,000–10,000 Pa, this is a truly significant difference. The robot simultaneously handles vacuuming, mopping, and scraping dirt from the floor, with the mops continuously cleaned thanks to a system with 16 outlet holes.

Xiaomi also addresses the age-old problem of robot vacuums – tangled hair. The 6 Max model features a dual anti-tangle system, combining a main brush capable of cutting hair with side brushes resistant to tangling.

Trio of Mechanical Arms and Bionic Legs

Among the most interesting features is a trio of mechanical arms, which take care of cleaning along walls, around furniture legs, and in hard-to-reach corners. This is a significant improvement over common models with one or two arms, which often leave dirt in corners.

Furthermore, the robot is equipped with bionic dual mechanical legs, allowing it to overcome obstacles up to 6 cm high.

AI Navigation Recognizes Even a 3mm Headphone Cable

Navigation is handled by a trio of cameras with AI recognition, capable of identifying 280 types of objects and 47 types of dirt. The system reportedly recognizes even tiny objects, such as a 3mm headphone cable, and automatically adjusts the cleaning strategy. This should help it avoid typical problems of cheaper models that get stuck on cables or bump into furniture.

Additionally, the built-in camera allows for remote monitoring of pets via the Mi Home app. Another interesting feature is the possibility of video calls via the Xiao Ai voice assistant, although the practical use of this function is at least debatable.

Price and Availability

The Mijia Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 Max is sold in China in two versions. The variant with a water tank officially costs 6,599 yuan, but after government subsidies for electronics, it comes out to 4,899 yuan (approximately 15,000 CZK). The version with water inlet and outlet has a base price of 6,999 yuan, and after subsidy, it is 5,399 yuan (about 16,600 CZK).

Xiaomi has not yet confirmed if or when the new product will reach European markets. Personally, however, I would not count too much on the availability of this particular model in our regions, or at least not in the foreseeable future.
