Chinese technology giant Xiaomi has expanded its range of smartwatches with a more compact variant of its previously introduced model. The new Xiaomi Watch S4 41mm are, as the name suggests, a smaller sibling to the standard Watch S4 and are primarily aimed at users with slimmer wrists or those who prefer a less conspicuous look. The watch retains the premium appearance and most of the features of the larger version but differs in several key aspects.

Compact design with premium materials

The Xiaomi Watch S4 41mm boasts a 1.32-inch round AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels, offering a refresh rate of 60 Hz and an impressive maximum brightness of up to 2,200 nits (with typical HBM brightness of 1,500 nits). Compared to the standard 47mm version, they are significantly lighter – weighing just 32 grams and are only 9.5 mm thin, which can contribute to greater comfort during all-day wear.

The watch comes in four color variants: black, mint green, white, and a special gold version. The gold edition is the most striking, featuring a Milanese strap and a crown adorned with six cultured diamonds. Users can choose from three types of straps: plastic (TPU), leather, and the aforementioned Milanese.

Decent endurance even in a smaller form factor

Despite the more compact dimensions, Xiaomi engineers managed to fit a 320 mAh capacity battery into the watch, providing up to 8 days of battery life with typical usage. With more demanding use, the watch lasts about 4 days, and with Always-On Display mode enabled, approximately 3 days. While this doesn’t reach the 15-day endurance of the larger Watch S4 model, it is still a very solid value in this category.

Also worth mentioning is the implementation of an improved Xring T1 chip with a modem that is 35% more energy-efficient than in the standard Watch S4 model. The watch runs on the Xiaomi HyperOS 2 operating system and offers integration with other devices from the ecosystem.

Advanced health and sports functions

Like the larger variant, the Watch S4 41mm also features an improved 4-LED + 4PD sensor module for more accurate heart rate tracking. The watch supports over 150 sports modes and includes comprehensive health functions such as heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, blood oxygen measurement, and highly accurate temperature measurement.

An interesting new feature is support for real-time heart rate tracking during swimming and the option for Bluetooth heart rate broadcasting to synchronize data with cycling and fitness equipment. It also includes a GPS module, an SOS function for emergencies, and 5ATM water resistance.

Price and availability

The basic model with a fluororubber strap sells for 999 jüanů (approximately 3,200 Kč converted) in China. The version with a leather strap costs 1,199 jüanů (about 3,800 Kč), and the top variant with a Milanese strap comes in at 1,499 jüanů (roughly 4,800 Kč).

The watch has only been officially launched on the Chinese market so far, and Xiaomi has not yet commented on its global availability. However, the standard 47mm Watch S4 model is already available in the Czech Republic at a price starting from 3,399 Kč, so there is a chance that the more compact variant will also make its way to our market over time.

How do you like the smaller version of the Xiaomi Watch S4? Would you welcome them on the Czech market?
