At the end of February, it globally introduced new products from the Xiaomi 17 series or brand new Wear OS watches Xiaomi Watch 5, and now in China, it’s already teasing the Xiaomi Watch S5, which should appear on the local market later this month. Compared to its predecessor, the new model presents itself as slimmer and more elegant, focusing on a combination of sports features and long battery life. The manufacturer positions the watch as a versatile sports watch with long battery life. Design similar to its predecessor, but with important changes Three stainless steel bezel variants 21-day battery life and improved sensors What features did the Xiaomi Watch S4 come with? Design similar to its predecessor, but with important changes In terms of design, the Xiaomi Watch S5 remain true to their predecessor – we will again see a round body with a rotating crown and a control button on the right side. The crown features a characteristic concentric circle pattern, which gives the watch an elegant look. A fundamental change, however, is the transition to an integrated bezel, which replaces the previously interchangeable variants. Thanks to this solution, the watch body has been slimmed down. Xiaomi opted for 316L stainless steel, known for its resistance to corrosion and common wear and tear. The watch will be available in two basic color variants: Midnight Blue and Forged Carbon. On official promotional materials, we can notice watch faces with Roman numerals, evoking classic watchmaking traditions. Three stainless steel bezel variants The manufacturer has prepared a total of three variants with different strap types. The eSIM supported version combines a stainless steel bezel with a leather strap, making it more suitable for formal occasions. The Bluetooth variants in silver and black, on the other hand, received fluoro-rubber straps, which are better suited for sports use. 21-day battery life and improved sensors A key parameter of the new watch is up to 21 days of battery life, which represents a significant improvement over the predecessor’s 15-day battery life. Xiaomi also states that the sensors have undergone a complete upgrade and should provide more accurate health metric measurements. However, the manufacturer has not yet revealed specific specifications. Among other features, Xiaomi mentions wrist control, which will allow users to control smart home devices and cars. This feature builds on the Xiaomi Smart Hub, which we know from the previous generation. What features did the Xiaomi Watch S4 come with? For comparison, let’s recall what the Xiaomi Watch S4 offered. The watch featured a 1.43″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 326 ppi and a 60 Hz refresh rate. The maximum brightness reached 2,200 nits, ensuring good readability even in direct sunlight. Battery life was 15 days with typical use. The S4 model stood out primarily for its interchangeable bezels – Xiaomi prepared five different styles, including ceramic and carbon variants. The watch supported over 150 sports modes, dual-frequency GPS (L1+L5), and NFC payments via Mastercard and Visa. Health features included heart rate measurement, blood oxygen saturation, sleep tracking, and stress monitoring.
