You can now buy a Xiaomi smart fridge and washing machine in the Czech Republic! Prices are attractive, competitors have reason to fear

Chinese Xiaomi has finally announced the Czech prices for its first large home appliances that are reaching markets outside China. The smart fridge Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door 502L will cost 15,999 CZK, while the combined washer-dryer Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer Pro 9kg costs 12,999 CZK. Both products can now be ordered from the official Xiaomi e-shop, and we expect them to appear at other domestic retailers in the coming days or weeks.

Xiaomi large appliances finally outside China

For Xiaomi, this is a breakthrough moment – for the first time in history, it is bringing large home appliances with smart features to markets outside China. Until now, European customers had to settle for smaller products, such as robotic vacuum cleaners, air purifiers, or fans. Now, however, the manufacturer is entering a completely new category and intends to directly compete with established brands like Samsung, LG, or Bosch.

These will be followed by Mijia Air Conditioner Pro Eco air conditioning units in two variants, but Xiaomi is keeping their prices secret for now.

Smart fridge with a volume of over 500 liters

The American-style Mijia Refrigerator Cross Door 502L impresses with its convertible “i Fresh” zone, which can be set between -1 °C and 5 °C. This allows the temperature to be adjusted according to the type of food stored – from meat and fish to beverages, fruits, and vegetables. The total volume of 502 liters is divided by the refrigerator into a cooling compartment (297 l), a freezing compartment (176 l), and the aforementioned convertible zone (29 l).

Also noteworthy is the Ag+ Fresh technology with silver ions, which, according to tests, eliminates up to 99.9% of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The system simultaneously neutralizes unpleasant odors, such as the fishy smell from seafood. The refrigerator features a dual inverter for quiet and energy-efficient operation, and Xiaomi provides a ten-year warranty on the compressor.

Also included is connectivity with the Xiaomi Home app, which allows remote temperature setting, mode selection, and status monitoring. If you leave the door open for more than 2 minutes, the refrigerator will trigger an alarm and send a notification to your phone. It also supports voice control via Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.

What makes the smart washer-dryer stand out?

The Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer Pro 9kg stands out with 25% better energy efficiency than class A according to TÜV SÜD certification. The appliance, with a capacity of 9 kg for washing and 3 kg for drying, offers a unique dual automatic dispensing system that intelligently measures the laundry weight and dispenses detergent and fabric softener accordingly. One fill of the dispensers lasts up to one month with normal use.

The Intelligent Infusion technology combines pre-mixing of detergent with high-pressure injection directly into the drum. The result is the Smart Wash program in just 36 minutes, saving 39% of time, 33% of water, and 40% of electricity compared to the previous generation. For lightly soiled laundry, an even faster 12-minute express cycle is available.

Hygienic washing uses high-temperature steam, which, according to tests, removes 99.99% of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The direct-drive motor comes with a 12-year warranty, while all other parts have a 2-year warranty. The washing machine’s design was honored with the prestigious German iF Design Award.

Reasonable prices for premium features

With prices of 15,999 CZK for the fridge and 12,999 CZK for the washing machine, Xiaomi is positioned in a competitive range. For comparable features from established brands, you would often pay several thousand CZK more. Additionally, you get complete integration into the Xiaomi Home ecosystem, which will be appreciated by owners of other smart devices from this brand.
