Aqara brought the new G100 Select camera to the Czech Republic. It's suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and costs less than a thousand Czech crowns.

The Aqara brand is expanding its range of smart security products on the Czech market and is introducing the G100 Select camera. The new product, designed for both indoor and outdoor use, stands out with its 2K resolution, waterproof construction, and wide compatibility with smart home ecosystems. The camera is available in two color variants, black and white, both priced at a pleasant 939 Kč.

Quality image in any weather

The Aqara Camera G100 Select is designed for use indoors and outdoors. Thanks to IP65 protection, you don’t have to worry about rain or extreme temperatures harming the camera. High-quality images are ensured by the 2K resolution (2304 × 1296 pixels) and an f/1.8 aperture lens. The camera also boasts an ultra-wide 140° field of view, capturing a larger part of the scene than standard models.

In low light conditions, dual night vision comes into play. The user can choose between a color spotlight mode or infrared vision with a wavelength of 940 nm. The camera’s position can also be easily adjusted with manual rotation, allowing you to direct the view exactly where you need it.

Intelligent detection and recording storage

The G100 Select model offers local AI motion and person detection, providing notifications directly to your mobile phone. With the optional HomeGuardian cloud subscription, you gain access to more advanced features such as face, vehicle, or pet recognition. The camera also features a built-in microphone and speaker for real-time two-way communication.

Regarding recording storage, the Aqara G100 Select provides several options. You can store recordings locally on a microSD card with a capacity of up to 512 GB (not included), on a NAS server, or use encrypted cloud storage (paid service). An interesting feature is time-lapse recording, which can compress a full day’s footage into just 15 seconds.

Wide compatibility with smart home ecosystems

A major advantage of the new Aqara camera is its seamless integration with most popular smart home platforms. The device supports Apple Home (including HomeKit Secure Video), Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings. For advanced users, it also offers integration with Home Assistant via the RTSP protocol.

Connectivity to a smartphone is provided by 2.4 GHz WiFi with WPA3 security support and Bluetooth. Control is managed by the Aqara Home app, which allows not only viewing the live feed but also setting up automations and connecting the camera with other smart home devices.

Comparison with competing models

Several competing cameras in a similar price category are available on the Czech market. How does the new Aqara model compare?

Although the new Aqara camera’s design is primarily intended for indoor use, it offers significantly better durability compared to classic indoor cameras, allowing it to handle more demanding outdoor conditions. On the other hand, it lacks the motorized rotation offered by all other compared cameras, which can be a disadvantage when needing to monitor a larger area.

In terms of resolution, Aqara is among the better average, with only the EZVIZ H6C 2K+ offering slightly higher image quality. In terms of connectivity, Aqara performs very well thanks to broad support for various ecosystems, which can be a key factor for users who already have an established smart home system.

Its compact design with dimensions of just 58 × 58 × 72 mm is also appealing, making the camera unobtrusive indoors and allowing it to be discreetly placed outdoors.

Availability and price

The Aqara Camera G100 Select is already available in Czech stores for 939 Kč, in both black (CH-C08D) and white (CH-C08DW) color variants. The package includes a power cable and mounting hardware. For local recording storage, a microSD card is required, which is not included in the package.
