Are you waiting for a large phone from Xiaomi? The 17 Max model will offer a 6.9″ display and brutal specs

The Xiaomi 17 series already includes four models – the basic 17, Pro, Pro Max, and Ultra. Yet, it seems Xiaomi isn’t finished. According to information from leaker Kartikey Singh, the launch of the Xiaomi 17 Max model is approaching, which should be the last piece of the puzzle before the arrival of the Xiaomi 18 series.

Pro Max without a rear display, but with everything else

The Xiaomi 17 Max won’t just be an enlarged basic 17. According to current leaks, the phone is expected to feature a 200Mpx main sensor with a 1/1.4″ chip, complemented by a 50Mpx ultrawide lens and a 50Mpx periscopic telephoto lens with a 1/1.95″ chip. The setup is thus expected to be comparable to the Pro Max model – but without the secondary display on the back, which is one of the main distinctions of the more expensive variant.

Performance is expected to be handled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the display will grow to 6.9″ , and the battery should offer a capacity of 8,000 mAh.

China in May, Europe in the stars

The launch is expected during May in the Chinese market. Whether the Xiaomi 17 Max will make it to Europe has not yet been confirmed by anyone. The Pro and Pro Max models did not reach official European distribution, so the hope for Max availability here is not very high. On the other hand – if Xiaomi is looking for a way to offer flagship features without the higher price of the Pro Max variant, the European market would make sense.
