You know the drill: you’re filling out an online flight check-in, and your reservation code is buried somewhere in your emails, so you switch between apps and search your inbox. Google is now shortening this annoying task. Autofill in Chrome will now offer data pulled directly from Gmail, as the company announced on its blog. Gemini with the Personal Intelligence feature will take care of this. However, the novelty won’t reach Czech users anytime soon.

Chrome will pull order numbers, package tracking, and flight tickets from Gmail

Until now, autofill mainly handled basics like name, address, or credit card number. According to Google’s official blog, it will now also suggest data you have in Gmail when filling out forms: order numbers, package tracking information, or flight reservations. So, if you want to find out where your package is, you don’t have to search for the tracking number in your inbox. Chrome will offer it directly to you.

As described by Android Authority, suggestions will appear in a separate section called Suggested by Gemini after tapping into a text field. When you tap on a suggestion, Chrome will show where the data originated. From there, you can also remove the suggestion or jump directly to settings. There, you can enable or disable the feature and determine what it can access. Google also promises that sensitive data remains encrypted.

The feature moved from a test version to all users in the USA

Google had already tested the novelty in the summer, when we wrote about the upcoming improvement in Chrome Canary in July. At that time, the feature drew from Gmail, Google Photos, and other connected applications. According to Android Authority, the stable version is currently limited to Gmail. The rollout is happening in the USA on desktops, Android, and iOS, for Gemini users in Chrome with Personal Intelligence enabled.

It won’t reach the Czech Republic yet. Neither Gemini in Chrome nor Personal Intelligence officially work in the European Union, and Google does not mention expansion to Europe in its announcement.

You pay for convenience with access to your email inbox

The other side of the coin is obvious. Most of us have a lot of sensitive information in our emails, and not everyone will want Gemini rummaging through them. Android Authority also reminds us that Google last week updated its policies, according to which it can also use data shared via Personal Intelligence for ad personalization.

Would you allow Chrome to fill out forms for you with data from Gmail?
