Confirmed! Redmi Note 17 Pro Max to be unveiled in a few days, offering an absolutely gigantic battery

The top model of the upcoming global Redmi Note 17 series was expected to offer a 9,210 mAh battery, according to leaks. Now Xiaomi has released the first teasers, and it turns out that leakers aimed low this time – the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will get a full 10,000 mAh. It will go on sale after its premiere on August 27.

A model that doesn’t exist in China at all

The very existence of this phone is interesting. The company introduced the Redmi Note 17 series in China in July in three variants – a basic 4G version, then 5G, and finally Pro. The Pro Max designation only appeared in connection with the upcoming global launch, first in an Amazon listing. According to available information, it will be the successor to the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus, meaning a phone primarily intended for international markets.

10,000 mAh and 100W charging

In addition to the battery, Xiaomi also confirmed support for 100W wired charging, which is absolutely crucial for such a large capacity. Without it, a full charge would take hours. For comparison – Realme released the P4 Power model with a 10,001 mAh battery this January, just one milliamp-hour larger, but with charging limited to 80W. Redmi thus gains an advantage over the competition precisely in charging speed, not in the capacity itself.

A question the teaser doesn’t answer

What Xiaomi is still keeping secret is the rest of the specifications. According to a Geekbench database entry, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, a mid-range chip – and this will be the main compromise, as earlier leaks spoke of a price around 599 euros.
