DJI Avata series drones have gained popularity primarily among FPV flying enthusiasts who appreciate the compact design with integrated propeller guards. However, the new generation DJI Avata 360 brings a significant shift – it combines an immersive FPV experience with 360° filming capabilities. For content creators, this means that from a single flight, they can create multiple different shots with any desired viewing angle in post-production. In our market, the new drone is already available for pre-order from 18,290 CZK.

Flagship camera with a 1″ sensor

At the heart of the DJI Avata 360 is a pair of sensors with an imaging area equivalent to a 1″ CMOS sensor. Thanks to large pixels of 2.4 μm and HDR support, the drone captures footage with a high dynamic range. In 360° mode, it records 8K video at 60 fps or takes 120Mpx photos at 16K resolution. Users can seamlessly switch between 360° mode and classic Single Lens mode – the latter offers filming in 4K at 60 fps in the style of the original Avata.

The internal storage with a capacity of 42 GB can hold approximately 30 minutes of 8K footage. File transfer to a phone is handled by Wi-Fi 6 with speeds up to 100 MB/s – so a gigabyte of data can be downloaded in 10 seconds.

Stable transmission and safe flight

The drone uses the O4+ transmission system with a live preview in 1080p at 60 fps and a theoretical range of up to 20 km. Control is provided either by the classic DJI RC 2 controller, or a combination of Goggles 3/N3 with the RC Motion 3 motion controller for immersive FPV flying.

Safety is ensured by LiDAR in the front of the drone, which in 360° mode enables omnidirectional obstacle detection – even during night filming. Integrated protective guards around the propellers protect both the drone itself and its surroundings. The front camera lens is also replaceable, so you don’t have to deal with service in case of damage.

Intelligent filming features

DJI Avata 360 offers several automatic tracking modes. ActiveTrack 360° automatically selects the optimal mode – Standard maintains a constant distance from the subject, while Cycling reacts faster to turns. The Spotlight Free function locks onto a moving subject and assists with camera movement, allowing you to capture dynamic shots even without experience.

FPV gimbal mode adds a natural tilt to all flight modes for a more dramatic look to the footage. Post-production is facilitated by the DJI Fly and DJI Studio applications, or a plugin for Adobe Premiere.

Flight characteristics and endurance

The drone weighs 455 grams and reaches a maximum speed of 64.8 km/h. The flight time is up to 23 minutes. According to EASA classification, it falls into Class C1 with operation category A1, which allows flying near people. The charging hub supports fast PD charging and parallel charging of multiple batteries simultaneously.

Prices and availability in the Czech Republic

DJI Avata 360 is available for pre-order in the Czech market, for example, at Alza. The basic variant with the DJI RC 2 controller costs 18,290 CZK. The extended Fly More Combo sets with a trio of batteries, a charging hub, and a bag cost 23,690 CZK – both in the version with the RC 2 controller and in combination with Goggles N3 and the RC Motion 3 motion controller. Deliveries are expected to start on April 23, 2026.

So, who is the Avata 360 for? Primarily for content creators who want to combine the creativity of 360° filming with the adrenaline of FPV flying. The price of around 18 thousand for the basic set is not low, but it corresponds to flagship equipment with an 8K camera and LiDAR sensor.
