Do you want a decent mechanical keyboard for little money? You can now get the Rapture FOXTROT Wired for 700 CZK

Once you switch from a regular membrane keyboard to a mechanical one, you usually don’t want to go back. The Rapture FOXTROT Wired is now a very cheap way to try it out. AlzaPlus+ members can get it for 700 CZK instead of the usual 1,399 CZK, which is half price and the cheapest in its history. Moreover, it’s not a newcomer without reviews; 74 customers on Alza have rated it, giving it an average of 4.7 out of 5 stars.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense if you want a quiet mechanical keyboard with a numpad for both gaming and typing and don’t want to spend more than a few hundred.
⚠️ Consider that the Enter key is single-row and the key layout is American with Czech legends, which some people might need time to get used to.
💡 For 700 CZK, you get pre-lubed Gateron switches, RGB backlighting, and a three-year warranty.

Mechanical keyboard for seven hundred, never been cheaper

Rapture is Alza’s own gaming brand, and the FOXTROT Wired has clearly been a success, selling over 2,000 units. AlzaPlus+ members currently pay 700 CZK for it, saving 699 CZK. Last week, it was available at this discounted price to all regular shoppers, but if you missed the promotion, purchasing AlzaPlus+ now offers a relatively inexpensive way to get a better price even now.

For comparison: in January, we wrote about the keyboard when it cost 979 CZK with a discount code, and that was already a very decent offer. The current price is another 279 CZK lower.

What is AlzaPlus+ and how much does it cost?

The promotional price of 700 CZK applies to AlzaPlus+ members. This is Alza’s membership program, which costs 299 CZK annually or 59 CZK for monthly billing. Its members receive discounted prices on selected goods, such as this fifty-percent discount, plus free delivery all year round. Without membership, the keyboard costs the usual 1,399 CZK.

A quiet mechanical keyboard that kept its numpad

Under the keys are Gateron G Pro 3.0 Red linear switches. The press goes smoothly down without a tactile bump and without a loud click, with an actuation distance of 2 mm. The switches are pre-lubed from the factory, as are the stabilizers under the spacebar, Shift, and Enter keys, to prevent longer keys from rattling. The manufacturer also mentions a Gasket Mount design, where pads between the upper and lower parts of the chassis dampen vibrations and noise. The lifespan of the switches is stated as 100 million presses.

The keyboard is more compact than a classic full-size one, but it has retained the numpad. It has a total of 99 keys with ABS keycaps in an OEM profile and an American ANSI layout with Czech and Slovak characters. Via Fn and the F1 to F12 row, you control volume, music, or launch the calculator; there’s also a Windows key lock and N-Key Rollover, which allows the keyboard to register many keys pressed simultaneously. The RGB backlighting offers 19 effects, and the keyboard connects to the computer via a detachable braided 1.6 m cable with USB-C, without driver installation.

Customers most often praise how quiet it is

The ratings here are reliable, as there are plenty of them. The FOXTROT Wired has 4.7 out of 5 from 74 customers on Alza, 57 of whom gave full marks, and 92% of people recommend it. Alza itself describes the 2.03% return rate as low. In written reviews, the most frequently mentioned positives are quiet operation, effective backlighting, and solid build quality. Several people bought it as their first mechanical keyboard and describe it as a big leap from a membrane keyboard.

Criticisms mainly revolve around the layout. Some people had to get used to the narrow single-row Enter key, several reviewers point out that Czech characters are not as well-lit as the rest, and two complain about whistling when RGB is on. Older reviews also criticize the missing setup application. However, according to one of the newer reviewers, the keyboard is now supported by Rapture software, where you can set macros, backlighting, and profiles.

When to look for a different keyboard

If you don’t want a cable on your desk, the Wired version won’t make you happy. However, there is a wireless FOXTROT, which we wrote about in February. Also skip it if you like a distinct tactile response and clicking under your fingers, as the red linear switches are, on the contrary, soft and quiet. And anyone who types a lot in Czech by touch and insists on a classic double-row Enter might struggle with the American layout for a while.

For seven hundred, I wouldn’t hesitate for long

For me, this offer is one of the most interesting ways to get a mechanical keyboard with a full numpad. For 700 CZK, you get pre-lubed Gateron switches, RGB backlighting, a three-year warranty, and a keyboard that the vast majority of buyers are satisfied with. It will be especially appreciated by those who are new to mechanical keyboards, type in the evenings next to a sleeping roommate, or are looking for one keyboard for both work and gaming. Those who want wireless or loud clicking will be happier elsewhere.

Are you still typing on a membrane keyboard, or have you already fallen for mechanical keyboards?
