Exclusive: Honor Magic V5 is heading to the Czech Republic! The Fold's arch-rival will have a lot to offer

It looks like the Czech market will soon see another addition to the growing family of foldable phones. According to our findings, the Honor Magic V5 has appeared in the offering of the largest Czech e-shop Alza.cz. Although the product does not yet have a price or availability date listed, its mere listing is a clear sign that the official premiere on our market is just around the corner.

World Record Holder in Thinness Heads to the Czech Republic

The Honor Magic V5 was introduced in China only at the beginning of July and holds several interesting firsts. In the Ivory White version, it is the thinnest foldable phone in the world, with a thickness of just 8.8 mm when closed and 4.1 mm when unfolded.

In addition to its thinness, Honor can also boast a weight starting at just 217 grams (again, in the white variant), making it one of the lightest foldable phones on the market. Furthermore, it is one of the few to offer full dust and water resistance with IP58 and IP59 certification, which is still not standard for foldable devices.

Features That Won’t Disappoint

When it comes to technical specifications, Honor certainly didn’t hold back with its new foldable phone. At the heart of the device beats the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which we might know from, for example, Xiaomi 15 or Galaxy S25. The Magic V5 further offers up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, depending on the specific configuration.

There are two displays again – an outer 6.43″ panel and an inner foldable 7.95″ display, both with LTPO OLED technology and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Both also offer an impressive maximum brightness of up to 5,000 nits, which should ensure perfect readability even in direct sunlight. The outer display is additionally protected by a special scratch-resistant NanoCrystal Shield glass.

A significant upgrade has also occurred in the camera department. The main 50Mpx sensor with an f/1.6 aperture is complemented by a new 50Mpx ultrawide-angle lens (an improvement from the previous 40 Mpx) and an improved 70mm telephoto lens with a 64Mpx sensor. For selfies, two 20Mpx cameras are available, one on each display.

Battery as a Pleasant Surprise

Despite its record-thin body, Honor managed to fit a 5,820 mAh battery into the Magic V5 (for the global market), representing approximately a 12% increase over its predecessor. Both 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging are supported.

Also worth mentioning is the use of advanced silicon-carbon battery technology, which should ensure not only greater capacity at the same volume, but also longer lifespan and better resistance to degradation.

When and for How Much?

Although Alza has not yet revealed the Czech price or exact availability date, we can draw from history. Last year’s Magic V3 started selling here for 48,990 CZK, and personally, I would expect the Chinese company not to significantly change its pricing policy.

In China, the phone is available in four color variants – Ivory White, Black, Dawn Gold, and Reddish Brown. On Alza, it is listed in black and gold, so we can likely expect these variants for the domestic market.
