The sixty-five-inch TCL 65C8K belongs to the upper-mid range of televisions with QD-Mini LED technology, and its regular price started at 49,990 CZK. However, Alza is now offering it for 27,990 CZK, plus an extended warranty and a SledováníTV subscription. This is an offer worth stopping for to see what you get for that money — and where TCL saved.

Quick Summary

✅ QD-Mini LED with 1680 dimming zones, 4500 nits brightness, and an anti-reflective panel
✅ Native 144 Hz, four HDMI 2.1 ports, and powerful Bang & Olufsen tuned sound with a subwoofer
⚠️ Simplified remote without numbers complicates IPTV, only a single USB, plastic stand wobbles
💡 Great choice for movies and games; IPTV users should consider buying a classic remote

Picture and Sound Take Center Stage

The main draw is the QD-Mini LED panel with 1680 dimming zones, which combines quantum dots for rich colors with precise local dimming. The result is high contrast, deep blacks approaching OLED, and peak brightness — the manufacturer states up to 4500 nits, which you’ll especially appreciate with HDR content. The CrystGlow WHVA panel also features an anti-reflective layer, so reflections in a brightly lit room won’t bother you. Customers praise the picture across reviews — one compares it to a previous LED TV and finds nothing to fault, another appreciates the nice black rendition.

The TV supports all important HDR formats, including Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and adds IMAX Enhanced certification and Filmmaker Mode for faithful cinematic visuals. The sound is handled by a 90 W Bang & Olufsen tuned system, including a built-in subwoofer, which reviewers describe as unexpectedly booming and full — bass is audible even without an external system, although it reportedly weakens slightly at higher volumes according to one reviewer.

Excellent for Gamers, but There Are a Few Compromises

From a gaming perspective, the 65C8K is superbly equipped. It offers a native 144Hz panel, four HDMI 2.1 ports, VRR, FreeSync Premium Pro, and a Game Bar. For PC gaming, there’s also a 288Hz Game Accelerator mode in Full HD resolution. It runs on the Google TV platform, which customers rate as swift with fast application launching, and it includes Google Cast and Apple AirPlay 2.

Now, to where TCL saved — and reviews are unanimous on this. The biggest target of criticism is the simplified remote control without numerical and colored buttons. This isn’t an issue for Netflix or YouTube, but users of IPTV services like Telly, SledováníTV, or Oneplay will encounter problems — without direct channel selection or colored buttons, control becomes endless clicking. The solution is to purchase a standard remote with all keys. The second recurring point is the single USB port, which is truly insufficient for a TV of this class: you can connect a mouse, but there won’t be room left for a keyboard or a drive.

Reservations also concern the stand — it’s plastic, with a narrow base, and according to multiple reviewers, the TV wobbles back and forth on it, so if you don’t wall-mount it, consider securing it. Minor issues include occasional errors in menu translation and a missing 3.5mm jack. Also worth mentioning is one customer’s experience with extended warranty registration, which they described as a lengthy ordeal involving a non-functional form and ineffective support. However, the benefit of a free warranty is still a pleasant bonus.

For 27,990 CZK, these reservations don’t outweigh the overall impression. You get a large QD-Mini LED panel with excellent picture and sound and complete gaming features for a price at which, until recently, TVs a class weaker were sold. If you’re looking for a main TV for movies and games and are willing to purchase a proper remote, this is one of the best price/performance ratios in the current offering.

Would a remote without numerical buttons bother you, or do you mainly watch streaming apps?
