Are you considering two monitors, but are you put off by the bezel in the middle and the tangle of cables? One properly wide panel is a more elegant solution. The Dahua LM49-EW410CA now costs 13,592 CZK with code ALZADNY15 instead of 15,990 CZK – and according to customer feedback, it’s one of the best-priced 49″ ultrawide monitors on the market.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you want immersive gaming and especially multitasking without a second screen – two windows side-by-side and USB-C that connects and charges your laptop with a single cable.
⚠️ Consider that it’s a VA panel (not IPS), it’s in Chinese after the first power-on, and automatic input switching is lacking.
💡 For 13,592 CZK with code ALZADNY15, you save 2,398 CZK and get the area of two QHD monitors in one piece.

Two monitors in one piece

The main attraction is the 49″ curved VA screen (1800R) with Dual QHD 5120 × 1440 resolution in a 32:9 aspect ratio. This is twice the width of a standard QHD – in practice, the area of two monitors, but without the distracting bezel in the middle. You can comfortably arrange an editor, browser, and chat side-by-side, and the Picture-by-Picture function can split the image between two different sources. For gaming, there’s 120 Hz and a 1 ms response time, so the image remains smooth even in faster scenes. A contrast ratio of 3000:1 and a matte surface work well for darker scenes, while 99% sRGB coverage and 400 cd/m² brightness are suitable for general color work. Connectivity is rich: HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and USB-C with up to 65 W power delivery, plus RJ-45, USB ports, and a headphone output. The stand is height-adjustable, and VESA 75 × 75 for arm mounting is included. Both DisplayPort and USB-C cables are included in the package, and the power supply is built-in – eliminating the need for an external brick.

Things to consider

A few things upfront. After the first power-on, the menu will appear in Chinese, and you won’t find Czech here – you can switch to English in the settings, but it’s a one-time annoyance. Another drawback from owner reviews is that if you have two active inputs and turn one off, the monitor doesn’t switch back automatically, and you have to select the source manually. It’s also worth considering the panel – it’s VA, not IPS. The contrast is excellent because of this, but viewing angles and color stability don’t match IPS; for general graphics, 99% sRGB is sufficient, but for demanding color correction, you should look elsewhere. Gamers aiming for competitive titles might also miss a higher refresh rate than 120 Hz.

For immersive gaming and multitasking without a second monitor, at 13,592 CZK, it’s a very reasonable purchase, as confirmed by satisfied customers. Those who need top-tier IPS color accuracy or a higher refresh rate should expect a more expensive alternative.

Would you swap two monitors for one 49″ model?
