Google accidentally showed a mysterious device in a Pixel 11 ad. Could it be a new Fitbit?

Google recently unveiled the Pixel 11 phones, Pixel Watch 5 smartwatches, and the Pixel Tag locator – but in fresh ads for the new series, a device appeared that was not mentioned on stage. A small bracelet with a display that looks like a new Fitbit. No one can say for sure what exactly it is, or if it’s just an error during AI generation.

Mysterious Bracelet Alongside New Smartphones

Over the past day, ads started appearing for selected YouTube users, some of which bear the label of Google’s Australian branch. They feature new Pixel products, and among them is a bracelet no one has seen before. The first images were pulled by users on Reddit, and the same ads were then confirmed by 9to5Google.

It’s interesting that the mysterious bracelet appears in two different graphics. If it were a one-time error by an AI image generator, it probably wouldn’t have happened. The enigmatic piece also appears in two colors, olive and misty grey “Fog”, just like the rest of the new series.

Is it a new Fitbit, an affordable Pixel Watch, or an AI fabrication?

The bracelet has an elongated display with a scaled-down version of the Pixel Watch 5 interface. Its shape and “pebble-like” body resemble the Fitbit Charge series, just with rounder edges.

Hence, three main theories emerge. It could be an unexpected Fitbit Charge 7, a more affordable Pixel Watch A-series, or – and this cannot be ruled out despite the aforementioned facts – an image created by artificial intelligence.

Why it all seems strange

Not a word was said about a new Fitbit at the Made by Google event, and the whole situation is a bit nonsensical also because the ads lack the display-less Fitbit Air, which usually appears in other Pixel-related materials.

We recently reviewed it, and the Charge series last expanded with the Charge 6 almost three years ago. Moreover, the Fitbit brand today only covers hardware, while the Google Health app handles the software. Google has not yet commented on the ads.
