Google Live is in Czech from today! Talk to the search engine like a human Home News Google is launching the Live Search feature in the Czech Republic — conversational search by voice or camera directly in Czech The technical foundation is the Gemini 3.1 Flash Live model, which is multilingual from the ground up and understands natural speech in real time The feature is available in the Google app on Android and iOS, as well as in Google Lens, starting today for all users Sdílejte: Jakub Kárník Published: 27. 3. 2026 11:30 Advertisement It took Google some time to bring its most interesting search innovation to Czech. But from today, it’s here: the Live Search feature allows you to talk to the search engine normally — by voice, or by pointing your camera at what interests you. No rephrasing queries, no searching for the right keywords. What can Live Search actually do? Gemini 3.1 Flash Live: a new model that takes Czech seriously Where to find the feature Late, but still What can Live Search actually do? The basic idea is simple: instead of typing, you just speak. You launch the feature in the Google app by tapping the Live icon below the search bar. Then you ask aloud, and the search engine responds — also by voice, with links to relevant pages. You can then develop the conversation with follow-up questions, just as if you were talking to a person. The second option is even more practical: you turn on your camera and point it at what you need to solve. Google sees the same thing as you and can advise in real time. A classic example from the press release is assembling a shelf — but it will work just as well for identifying a plant, reading a label in a foreign language, or diagnosing a suspicious car sound. The feature is also available directly from Google Lens, where you just tap the Live button at the bottom of the screen. Gemini 3.1 Flash Live: a new model that takes Czech seriously Behind the entire feature is the Gemini 3.1 Flash Live model — and what sets it apart from previous attempts is its approach to languages. It’s not a translated English model, but a system designed as multilingual from the ground up. In practice, this means that Czech is not a secondary add-on, but a fully supported language — the search engine understands natural formulations, colloquialisms, and incomplete sentences. This is an important shift. Many AI features we’ve seen from various phone manufacturers in recent years either completely ignored Czech or supported it only formally — with results showing that the model was not truly trained on it. Google is taking a different approach this time. Where to find the feature Live Search works on both Android and iOS — you need the current version of the Google app. Access is via the AI Mode tab, where you’ll find the Live icon. An alternative path is through Google Lens, where a similarly named option has been added to the bottom of the interface. The feature is available to all users in the Czech Republic from today, without the need to wait for a gradual rollout or sign up for a beta program. Late, but still It would be disingenuous to pretend that Google is introducing a groundbreaking innovation. Voice search has been around in various forms for years, as has conversational AI. What is truly new, however, is the combination of both in Czech, with visual input from the camera and results backed by current internet data — not just the model’s pre-trained knowledge.
