Google's search agents will monitor the web for you. AI Ultra subscribers have received them, now also in the Czech Republic

Google is gradually transforming its Search from a place where you go for answers to a tool that works for you even when you’re not actively searching for anything. This is precisely what the new search agents do: you give them a topic, and they then continuously monitor the web and notify you themselves the moment something new appears. They are now widely available to AI Ultra plan subscribers, including in the Czech Republic.

What exactly do search agents do?

In practice, it works simply. In AI Mode, you type something like “inform me about…” or “let me know when…” and thereby deploy the agent. From that moment on, the agent works twenty-four hours a day in the background, browsing blogs, news websites, and social media posts. It also accesses fresh data – for example, monitoring financial rates, e-shop offers, or sports results.

Instead of a pile of links, the agent will then send you a summary of what’s essential, along with the option to act immediately. Google illustrates this with two examples: you’re looking for an apartment with specific parameters and get an alert every time a new suitable ad appears; or you monitor a favorite athlete and find out immediately when they announce a new collaboration or limited edition.

How do they differ from regular notifications?

Monitoring functions are not entirely new to Google, but agents advance them in terms of speed. The Gemini assistant can perform similar scheduled actions that notify once a day, while the newer Gemini Spark checks assignments approximately every fifteen minutes. Search agents aim for an immediate reaction – ideally, they notify you the moment the information appears on the web, not just during the next scheduled pass.

They are already in the Czech Republic, if you are willing to pay

For now, agents are the exclusive domain of the highest Google AI Ultra plan. In the Czech Republic, this costs 2,999.99 Kč per month for the version with 20TB storage, while the 30 TB variant costs 5,500 Kč. In addition to monitoring agents, it also includes the most advanced Gemini models, Veo video generation, and a YouTube Premium subscription.

Google introduced the feature itself at the May I/O conference and is now gradually rolling it out across markets. As Robby Stein, VP of Search, announced on X, this is only the first group of users, and the company plans to expand to the cheaper AI Pro plan for the summer. The fact that agents run in “all AI mode languages and countries” is good news for us too.
