GTA 6 on an unexpected platform? Leaked document mentions port and collector's editions

There are roughly two and a half months left until the release of GTA 6, and leaks are coming from unexpected directions. This time, the French retailer Cdiscount was responsible, as its PDF document with promotional offer terms mentioned a version for Nintendo Switch 2 — a port that Rockstar has never discussed.

Found by accident, among Zelda

The document was shared on social media by the SwitchActu account and initially garnered attention for something else — it featured the upcoming remake of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and an anniversary console for its 40th birthday. Only upon closer reading did fans notice that the list of excluded titles also included GTA, in several configurations for all platforms. In addition to the Standard and Ultimate editions, which are available for pre-order today, Deluxe, Premium, Collector’s, and Ultimate Collector’s versions are also present.

Could the Switch 2 even handle it?

And here begins healthy skepticism. Digital Foundry’s analysis based on the recent trailer concluded that even PlayStation 5 and Xbox will struggle to maintain thirty frames per second, let alone more. Even a powerful gaming PC won’t have an easy time. Nintendo does have DLSS technology up its sleeve, which allows games like Cyberpunk 2077 to run reasonably well on its console, but GTA 6 is in a different weight class.

It was rumored last year

This doesn’t come completely out of the blue. As early as November 2025, leaker NateTheHate claimed that developers were considering whether a Switch 2 version was even feasible. However, nothing suggests that the experiment has moved beyond the testing phase. Rockstar has only confirmed PlayStation and Xbox consoles so far, with a PC version potentially arriving no earlier than 2027. The release date remains November 19. Until then, let’s take the French document with a grain of salt — commercial materials of this type are often full of errors and placeholders.
