IKEA brought the BLOMPRAKT lamp with a built-in speaker to the Czech Republic. It supports Spotify Tap and doesn't cost much

Swedish furniture giant IKEA is expanding its smart home offering with an interesting hybrid – the BLOMPRAKT lamp, which combines LED lighting and a Bluetooth speaker. The novelty, first introduced during the summer holidays, has now arrived on the Czech market with a price of 1,290 CZK. The device, designed by Jon Eliason, targets customers looking for a multi-purpose solution for smaller spaces.

Dimmable Lighting with an Added Speaker

BLOMPRAKT impresses with its variable placement – thanks to two cable routing holes under the base, the lamp can be positioned at various angles as needed. The product includes a built-in LED bulb, which does not need to be purchased separately. The light output can be continuously adjusted by simply pressing and holding the button, allowing you to set the ideal atmosphere for reading, working, or relaxing.

The lamp is available in three color variants – beige for neutral interiors, a slightly bolder light blue, and black for minimalist spaces. They do not differ in functionality, so it’s purely a matter of preference.

Smart Features and Connectivity

The speaker connects to any Bluetooth device – a phone, tablet, or even a computer. IKEA guarantees a minimum range of 10 meters without interference, although the actual distance may be greater depending on the room’s construction. An interesting feature is the multi-speaker mode, which allows BLOMPRAKT to be connected with other Bluetooth speakers from IKEA’s range to create a multi-channel sound system.

For users of the Spotify streaming service, the lamp offers a special feature called Spotify Tap. With a simple press of a button, the speaker will automatically play music exactly where you last left off. The system also generates music recommendations based on your listening history – pressing the button again skips to the next track.
