IKEA is preparing a load of new Matter products. Now we have information about seven of them Home News Connectivity Standards Alliance has revealed seven new IKEA smart devices with Matter support Products include motion sensors, an air quality monitor, and smart switches with a dial The first batch of new products will arrive on the market in January 2026, with others following in April Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 31. 8. 2025 02:30 Advertisement In July, we informed you about IKEA’s ambitious plans to launch more than 20 new smart home products with support for the universal Matter standard. Now we are learning specific details about seven devices that the Swedish giant is preparing. The products appeared in the Distributed Compliance Ledger (DCL) database, where they received official Matter certification. New generation to replace older models Most of the new products represent modernized versions of existing devices from IKEA’s portfolio. The Myggspray motion sensor is intended to replace the current Vallhorn model, while the Klippbok water leak detector will supersede the older Badring. The Myggbett door and window sensor will then come instead of the current Parasoll model. All these devices will gain broader compatibility with ecosystems from other manufacturers thanks to Matter certification. Air quality monitor and temperature sensor Among the certified products, we also find the Alpstuga air quality monitor, which apparently represents an improved version of the current Vindstyrka sensor. A new addition to IKEA’s portfolio will be the Timmerflotte temperature and humidity sensor, which the company has not offered before. Smart switches with practical controls Of particular interest are two new Bilresa smart switches, which were speculated about earlier. The first model is expected to feature a rotary dial for smooth dimming, while the second will offer a pair of programmable buttons. Both switches will operate wirelessly and, thanks to Matter certification, can be integrated into any compatible smart home system. Availability of new products IKEA plans to launch over 20 new Matter products, with the first batch expected to arrive in stores in January 2026. The company will then introduce additional devices in April 2026. All new products will be affordable, according to earlier IKEA statements, which aligns with the Swedish chain’s long-term strategy to democratize smart home technology. Certification in the DCL database confirms that product development is in an advanced stage and IKEA is adhering to its schedule. Thanks to Matter support, all devices will work not only with the IKEA Home smart app but also with competing platforms such as Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings.
