Bluetooth speakers from JBL are among the best-selling on the market, and the Xtreme 4 represents the pinnacle of its portable model offerings. If the Camo version appeals to you (or at least doesn’t bother you), you now have the opportunity to purchase it at its lowest price yet. On Alza, with code ALZADNY10, you will pay 4,941 CZK, which is a significant drop from the original price of 8,990 CZK at its launch two years ago.

Performance and Sound Without Compromise

The JBL Xtreme 4 features a total output of 100 W, provided by two woofers and two tweeters. Additionally, dual passive radiators are included for deeper bass. The frequency range extends from 44 Hz to 20,000 Hz, which covers most music genres without issues.

The speaker supports AI Sound Boost, which analyzes the incoming audio signal in real-time and optimizes driver performance. In practice, this means less distortion at high volumes. For connecting multiple speakers, Auracast and JBL PartyBoost technologies are used – two Xtreme 4 units can be paired into stereo mode.

Battery Life and Practical Features

The 9,444 mAh battery lasts up to 24 hours of playback, according to the manufacturer. The Playtime Boost feature adds another 6 hours at the cost of slightly optimized sound. A practical feature is fast charging – 10 minutes plugged in provides approximately 2 hours of listening.

Additionally, the battery can be replaced by yourself by loosening two screws, which extends the overall lifespan of the speaker. A replacement JBL Battery 400 costs 2,301 CZK on Alza. The speaker also functions as a power bank for charging a phone via USB-C.

IP67 certification guarantees resistance to water immersion and dust, so the speaker will survive unexpected rain or a fall into a pool. Its weight of 2.1 kg and the included shoulder strap make it easy to carry.

Connectivity and Control

Wireless connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 5.3. The speaker can be controlled via the JBL Portable app for iOS and Android, which offers a five-band equalizer and several sound presets. In the settings, the startup jingle and button tones can be turned off, which will be appreciated by those who find these sounds annoying.

It’s worth noting that the JBL Xtreme 4 cannot be connected with older models using the Connect+ protocol – it only works with speakers supporting PartyBoost or Auracast.

What Users Say

On Alza, the JBL Xtreme 4 has a rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars from 113 customers, with 96% of them recommending the speaker. The return rate is only 2.2%, which indicates reliability.

Users most often praise the sound quality, long battery life, and solid build. One reviewer noted that in stereo mode with two units, the sound is “truly fantastic,” especially when watching movies. The option to replace the battery and customize the equalizer in the app is also appreciated.

Critical voices mention the absence of a charger and cable in the package – users would expect complete accessories for a higher-end price. Some also point out that the bass is not as powerful as they would expect from a speaker of this size, although most rate the sound as balanced and clear.
