An OLED TV with Ambilight for less than 29 thousand Czech crowns? That sounds like a system error, but it’s not. Philips 65OLED770 currently costs 28,493 CZK on Alza.cz with discount code ALZADNY25, which is the lowest price on the Czech market. Competitors on Heureka offer the same model for at least 36,091 CZK. When the TV arrived on the market this May, it cost 43,990 CZK. In half a year, it has therefore been discounted by 15,497 CZK (35 %).

Ambilight – unique technology only Philips has

The main reason to consider a TV from Philips is three-sided Ambilight. It’s a system of LED diodes placed behind the screen that project colors from the image onto the wall behind the TV. The result? The image seems to extend beyond the TV frame, and the room is colored according to what you’re watching. When watching a sci-fi film with blue space, the entire wall glows blue; during a sunset in a film, it glows orange.

Ambilight has several modes: game mode (reacts to game scenes), music mode (pulses to the rhythm of the music), sunrise effect alarm (gradually illuminates the room), or wall color adaptation (calibrates colors according to the wall color behind the TV). You can control the entire system via the Ambilight Suite app and optionally connect it with Philips Hue smart bulbs.

Ambilight is not just a marketing gimmick. It truly changes the viewing experience – the TV appears larger, the image is less tiring for the eyes, and the entire room becomes part of the projection.

OLED panel with P5 AI Perfect Picture Engine

Philips 65OLED770 is no compromise. It is a full-fledged OLED TV with a 65″ diagonal, 4K Ultra HD (3840 × 2160 pixels) resolution, and a 100/120 Hz refresh rate. An OLED panel means perfect black, high contrast, and wide viewing angles. Unlike LED TVs, each pixel lights up independently, so dark scenes look truly dark – not grayish.

The P5 AI Perfect Picture Engine is responsible for image processing – an artificial intelligence processor that, according to Philips, processes images in a similar way to the human brain. In practice, this means better rendering of details in both dark and bright parts of the scene, richer colors, and smoother motion. The algorithm learns from a large amount of image data and can recognize content types (sports, movies, news) and adapt processing accordingly.

The TV supports all relevant HDR formats: HDR10, HDR10+, HDR10+ Adaptive, Dolby Vision, and HLG. HDR10+ dynamically adjusts brightness for each frame, while Dolby Vision offers the richest color palette even at maximum brightness. Maximum brightness reaches 1,000 nits, which is a good value for OLED TVs.

Titan OS – Philips’ new system

Philips has abandoned Android TV and implemented its own Titan OS operating system. It is simpler, faster, and less burdened with bloatware. On the other hand, it doesn’t have as wide an app offering as Google Play.

However, Czech applications are available: Prima+, Oneplay, LepšíTV, Skylink Live TV. Global services like Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Deezer, of course, work. However, if you use a specific application that is not available, it might be a problem.

Titan OS has Czech localization (including Slovak), a web browser, and support for HbbTV 2.0.3 for hybrid broadcasting. It also includes features like Skylink Fast Scan for quick channel searching and a light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness according to room lighting.

Gaming mode with VRR and 120 Hz

For gamers, this TV is interesting thanks to its gaming mode (GAME MODE), which reduces input lag to a minimum. It also supports VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), AMD FreeSync Premium, and Nvidia G-SYNC, so games run smoothly without screen tearing.

The 120 Hz refresh rate is ideal for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, which can achieve up to 120 fps in some games. Additionally, the OLED panel offers fast pixel response, so fast scenes show no blurring. And Ambilight? It has a special gaming mode that reacts to in-game action – glowing red during an explosion, blue when jumping into water.

The TV has 4× HDMI 2.1, which is an above-standard feature. Most competing models in this price range offer only 2× HDMI 2.1, with the rest of the ports being older versions. Here, you can connect a console, PC, soundbar, and other devices without worrying about which port supports 4K at 120 Hz.

Sound

Philips 65OLED770 has built-in 20W speakers with support for DTS:X, Dolby Atmos, and Dolby Digital AC4.

The TV also offers sound calibration, which analyzes room acoustics and adjusts parameters for optimal performance. Also useful is the automatic volume control function, which balances differences between programs and commercials.

For a true cinema experience, however, we still recommend a soundbar or home theater system. The built-in speakers are solid, but not sufficient for detailed bass and clear mids.

Who is the Philips 65OLED770 ideal for?

This TV makes sense for anyone who:

  • Wants a large-screen OLED TV at a reasonable price
  • Desires Ambilight – a unique technology you won’t find anywhere else
  • Plays on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X and needs 120 Hz + VRR
  • Watches movies in the evening and wants a cinema-like atmosphere (OLED + Dolby Vision + Dolby Atmos)
  • Doesn’t need thousands of apps in the store and is content with popular services

On the other hand, if you plan to watch TV during the day in a brightly lit room, want the latest Android TV, or need extremely low power consumption, it might be worth waiting for another deal.

The promotion with code ALZADNY25 is valid on Alza.cz, and it’s unclear how long it will be available. If Ambilight entices you and you want an OLED TV at the lowest price on the market, now is the right time.
