Samsung is set to launch its first smart glasses with Android XR **in November 2026**. The date is reported by The Korea Herald, which cites a Samsung employee. The main draw will be Gemini, capable of working with what you see and hear. But don’t expect an image before your eyes: **the first models will not have a display** and will rely on a connected Galaxy phone for more demanding tasks.

Gemini to get a camera, phone remains in play

The glasses, referred to as Intelligent Eyewear, feature a camera, microphones, and speakers. Thanks to these, Gemini will capture images of the surroundings and hear the user’s voice, enabling hands-free assistance with tasks. Samsung is thus preparing more of a **smartphone accessory than a replacement**. The computationally more demanding part of the AI will run on a connected Galaxy phone, not directly in the frames.

Samsung is preparing the design of the frames with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. Designs from both brands were already shown in July during the presentation of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. This is not the first look at a previously secret product; the new information is primarily a more specific launch date.

Covered indicator light to turn off camera

A camera on the face also concerns people around the wearer. Therefore, according to available information, Samsung will use LED indicator lights both inside and outside the frames to signal ongoing recording. **If the outer indicator light is covered, the camera should automatically turn off**. The signaling is thus not just a light that can be hidden to continue recording.

US price is currently just an estimate

SamMobile reports a possible price range of **349 to 499 USD** (approximately 7,600 – 11,000 CZK without VAT) for the US market. This is not an official price list, and Samsung has not yet announced the exact November launch date.

Whether the November launch will also include the Czech market remains open for now, but personally, I wouldn’t bet too much on it given the history of similar product launches.

**Would smart glasses with Gemini make sense to you even without a display?**
