Traveling with a laptop always involves a compromise: either you struggle with the touchpad, or you lug around a mouse that takes up a lot of space in your backpack. The Logitech Mobi Fold promises to end this debate – it folds flat to fit in your pocket and, when unfolded, offers a comfortable arch for your palm. It’s the very first folding mouse Logitech has introduced.

How a mouse turns into a pocket-sized flat device

The principle is simple, and anyone who has ever snapped shut a flip phone will understand it on the first try. The mouse folds at the joint, transforming from a rounded lump into a thin rectangle that is barely 21 millimeters tall. When opened, both halves snap into an arched position that elevates the palm and simultaneously holds the buttons at a reasonable angle.

According to Logitech, the joint is designed to withstand up to fifteen years of daily folding — this is, of course, a manufacturer’s claim that should be taken with a grain of salt, but it suggests that it’s not a fragile gimmick. Foreign editors who have already held the mouse describe the mechanism as initially a bit indistinct but well-balanced, and tactilely compare it to the legendary Microsoft Arc.

What makes the Logitech Mobi Fold interesting

Instead of a classic scroll wheel, the mouse features a touch strip that you glide your finger across. Scrolling is adaptive — a short swipe moves line by line, a quick flick scrolls through a long page — and pressing in the middle triggers a middle click. The left and right buttons are physical and dampened, so they don’t click loudly like a cheap office mouse.

An interesting detail is hidden inside: Logitech has embedded a small AI model into the mouse, designed to recognize when it’s being folded and prevent accidental clicks at that moment. Performance is handled by an optical sensor with 4K DPI resolution, and connectivity is provided by Bluetooth with Easy-Switch functionality — the mouse remembers three devices, and you switch between them with a single button. It works with Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, Android, and iPadOS, so you can easily switch it between your work laptop and tablet.

It charges via USB-C, and here Logitech boasts numbers that sound almost suspiciously good: a single minute on the charger reportedly provides enough power for 22 hours of work, and a full charge is said to last about a month. Even if reality falls short, you probably won’t have to worry about a dead mouse in the middle of a presentation.

In the Czech Republic, the Logitech Mobi Fold costs 1,999 CZK and is immediately available in stock on Logitech’s official e-shop. There are four colors to choose from — Graphite, Cream, Sand, and Lilac, which Logitech promotes as the model’s main face. The mouse is designed for both right-handed and left-handed users, which makes sense for such a symmetrical shape.

Who will benefit from this purchase? Primarily those who often leave home with their laptop and find the touchpad annoying, but don’t want to carry a full-sized mouse in their bag. Someone who sits at a desk all day and plays games won’t lose anything by opting for a classic ergonomic mouse for the same price — the folding mechanism and touch scroll strip are a trade-off for compactness, not an advantage at a fixed desk. However, for travelers and people who write on trains and in cafes, it’s one of the most elegant pieces on the market this year.
