Massive Apple Leak: Secret iPhone 17 Pro Photographed on the Street, This is What it Looks Like

Do you know what doesn’t happen every day? Someone walking around with an unreleased iPhone on the street. Apple hates leaks like few other companies and keeps its employees on a tight leash. That’s why we were even more surprised by the photos that appeared on the X network, capturing a guy strutting around with what could be a prototype of the iPhone 17 Pro.

A Disguised Phone That Reveals a Lot

User @Skyfops served us two photos of a guy holding two phones. The first is clearly a current iPhone 16 Pro without a case, which has a sticker with some code on its back – a typical thing for Apple’s internal testing devices. But what he was holding in his other hand, that’s what’s truly interesting.

The phone is crammed into a massive black case, which has about as much elegance as an armored safe. Apple uses such cases when it doesn’t want anyone to see what the new product looks like. However, even with this disguise, you can see the relocated LED flash and LiDAR scanner in the upper corner – exactly where we expect them on the iPhone 17 Pro with a new full-width rear camera module, according to previous leaks.

Even Gurman Believes It

When I look at a leak skeptically, I check what Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has to say about it. This guy seems to have informants everywhere at Apple. And this time? “This looks legit,” he wrote. That significantly increases the chances that we are looking at a real iPhone 17 Pro prototype, and not some fake.

The second photo shows both phones side-by-side from the front, and it’s clear how enormous the protective case is. It resembles a small brick more than a phone.

What’s Expected from the New iPhone?

While we’re at it, what do we actually know about the iPhone 17 Pro? Apparently, it will be a device that finally lives up to the “Pro” in its name.

A special camera app with professional features, an additional button for photography, and an 8x telephoto lens are expected. Also, the ability to record video from multiple cameras simultaneously. The battery (especially for the Pro Max version) should also see an increase, along with better cooling and an anti-reflective display, similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
