Mini LED backlighting under ten thousand was a dream of the future just a few years ago, now it’s a relatively widely adopted technology. The Samsung UE50M72H now costs CZK 9,990 with code ALZADNY20 instead of CZK 12,488 – and it’s a new product from the 2026 model year, not a clearance sale of older stock.

Mini LED for the price of an ordinary TV

The difference between classic LED backlighting and Mini LED is in the number of diodes behind the panel – instead of dozens, there can be hundreds (though for this model, I would expect fewer zones), allowing the TV to dim individual parts of the image more precisely. In practice, this means deeper blacks in night scenes and less of the grayish haze that cheap TVs often have in dark passages. Under ten thousand, this is a feature set that competitors usually don’t offer.

Connectivity is unusually generous: three HDMI 2.1 ports including eARC for a soundbar and Wi-Fi 6E, the latest standard you practically don’t see in TVs at this price point. The Tizen system is one of the fastest and offers a complete Czech selection – Oneplay, Prima+, SledováníTV, Telly, Kuki, Skylink, LepšíTV, and Vodafone TV, plus Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Apple TV. Xbox Game Pass is also available directly on the TV, so you can play without a console.

Gamers will appreciate AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and game mode, while owners of smaller apartments will like the design: the TV is only 7.6 centimeters thin and weighs 8.5 kg, making it easy to wall-mount (VESA 200 × 200). The Art Gallery feature, which prevents the turned-off screen from looking like a black hole in the wall, and picture-in-picture are also welcome.

Where the price category shows

A significant limitation is the 50/60 Hz refresh rate. This is sufficient for movies, series, and sports without problems, but PlayStation or Xbox owners won’t be able to utilize the 120 Hz their consoles support – thus, the HDMI 2.1 ports are only half-utilized. Among audio formats, you’ll only find DTS Digital Surround, Dolby Atmos is missing, and the 20W speakers are more of an emergency solution for fifty inches, so plan on getting a soundbar.

The screen surface is glossy, which means richer colors but also reflections if you have a window behind you. And among voice assistants, the TV only supports Samsung Bixby, so Google Home or Alexa owners are out of luck. Energy class F with a typical consumption of 65 W is average.
