Today, it reinforced this reputation with three new products at once – the smartphones Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro, and the over-ear headphones Headphone (a). We have been testing them in the editorial office since last week, and for now, we bring you a complete overview of what Nothing has prepared. Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro: Mid-range with a periscope Thinnest Nothing in history and metal unibody design Glyph Interface: More LEDs, more features Headphone (a): Five days of listening and four colors Prices and availability in the Czech Republic Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro: Mid-range with a periscope Undoubtedly, the biggest novelty of this year’s (4a) series is the periscopic telephoto lens – something you don’t often encounter in the mid-range. Both models feature a 50Mpx main sensor with optical stabilization and a 50Mpx 3.5× periscopic telephoto lens, with the Pro model capable of up to 140× digital zoom, and the standard model up to 70×. The camera is powered by the TrueLens 4 engine, which introduces the Ultra XDR photo feature developed in collaboration with Google. Under the hood of the Phone (4a) Pro model beats the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, which is expected to offer 27% higher CPU performance and 30% better graphics compared to its predecessor. The standard Phone (4a) will receive the slightly lower Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. Both models run on Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16 and are guaranteed 3 years of major system updates and 6 years of security patches. Thinnest Nothing in history and metal unibody design With a thickness of 7.95 mm, the Phone (4a) Pro is the thinnest Nothing phone to date. The metal unibody design combines the iconic transparent aesthetic with IP65 certification. The standard (4a) model relies on a metal and glass combination with IP64 certification. Both phones come in pink, which is clearly the main draw this year – complemented by silver and black for the Pro model, and white and blue for the base model. The Pro model’s display measures 6.83″, offers 1.5K resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 5,000 nits in HDR – the most Nothing has ever put into a phone. The standard (4a) features a 6.78″ AMOLED with 4,500 nits brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. Both models are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and feature 2,160 Hz PWM dimming for gentler viewing. Glyph Interface: More LEDs, more features The signature glowing back has been upgraded on both models. The Phone (4a) features a new Glyph Bar composed of 63 mini-LEDs with 3,500 nits brightness – 40% more than its predecessor, the Phone (3a). The Phone (4a) Pro then comes with a full-fledged Glyph Matrix of 137 LEDs, covering 57% more area and offering double the brightness compared to the previous generation. The LEDs serve for notifications, call progress indicators, charging, or timers, and can also function as fill light for photos. Both phones share a 5,080 mAh battery with support for 50W fast charging – reaching 60% capacity in half an hour. Nothing promises that the battery will retain more than 90% of its capacity after 1,200 charging cycles. Headphone (a): Five days of listening and four colors Alongside the phones, Nothing also introduced the Headphone (a) over-ear headphones, targeting a younger audience looking for a combination of style and endurance. And endurance is their main trump card – up to 135 hours of listening on a single charge (with ANC off), which Nothing claims is roughly double that of current competitors. This is enough for a week of regular use without reaching for a cable. If you do run out of battery, 5 minutes of charging will give you another 5 hours of listening. The headphones weigh 310 grams, have IP52 certification, and come in four colors: black, white, pink, and yellow. The yellow variant will be a limited edition with a later sales launch. In terms of sound, the Headphone (a) offer a 40mm titanium driver, Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified with LDAC codec, and adaptive noise cancellation at three levels. Also noteworthy is the physical control scheme adopted from the more expensive Headphone (1) model – a wheel, a lever, and a button on the earcups instead of touch surfaces. Additionally, the new Camera Shutter feature transforms the button into a remote camera trigger on a paired phone.
