OnePlus 15 will arrive in three color variants with a brand new design and a huge battery

As OnePlus itself has confirmed, after the current OnePlus 13, we won’t see a fourteen, but rather OnePlus 15 directly. However, don’t look for any complicated marketing strategy behind this; the reason is the same as when OnePlus 5 came directly after OnePlus 3 (and 3T). In Chinese culture, the number 4 is considered unlucky because its pronunciation is very similar to the pronunciation of the word for “death”. This number is therefore often skipped in China, even when numbering floors or buildings themselves.

But back to the upcoming OnePlus 15. Unsurprisingly, it should arrive with the latest TOP chipset from Qualcomm. At this moment, it is not entirely certain what it will be called. Whether it will be Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 or Gen 5 is not entirely relevant to the end customer. The first record even appeared in the GeekBench benchmark database. However, it was clearly one of the first prototypes of OnePlus 15, and its performance was significantly below what we would expect from a top-tier Snapdragon in the OnePlus 15.

In addition, the respected leaker Digital Chat Station reported that the new device will offer a 6.78″ display with 1.5K resolution and will come with a whole range of memory variants. Specifically, these are versions with 12 GB RAM and 256 / 512 GB storage, and 16 GB RAM and 256 / 512 / 1024GB storage. Previous leaks included information about the deployment of a triple camera setup on the back with a 50MP main sensor, and most notably, a 7,000mAh battery. There has also been talk of a redesigned look for a while. Based on the leaked information, renders were created, which you can see above, but for now, let’s take them with a grain of salt. We have also recently learned that the OnePlus 15 should be available in purple, black, and “titanium” color variants.
