Two days ago, it was still speculation: we wrote that, according to insider Roland Quandt, OnePlus was expected to announce its withdrawal from the American and European markets this week. Now it’s confirmed – the brand has officially announced its exit from Europe and North America and will no longer supply new phones here.

No new products will be launched in Europe and the USA

The company announced this together with its parent company Oppo. After considering the situation, no new products will be launched in Europe and North America, but customer rights, including after-sales support and updates, will remain fully preserved, according to the statement. Remaining stock is to be sold off where there is still demand.

Oppo is taking over the role that OnePlus has played in Europe until now. It aims to strengthen cooperation with European retailers and focus on flagship models. In China, on the other hand, OnePlus continues unchanged.

Why is OnePlus ending?

You won’t find a specific reason in the statement, but the circumstances speak quite clearly. According to available analyses, LPDDR RAM prices have jumped by approximately 250 percent in a year, as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron redirected production to data center chips. This undermines the very foundation on which the brand built its name – a lot of value for money. This particularly affects the affordable Nord series.

The second layer is internal. Oppo is undergoing restructuring due to weaker results of its phone business in the US, European, and Indian markets, compounded by geopolitical risks of selling Chinese phones in the United States. The exit of sister brand Realme from the Chinese market is also part of this same cleanup.

What does this mean for OnePlus owners?

If you own a OnePlus 15 or any Nord series model, nothing changes for now. Phones are expected to continue receiving updates and security patches according to the original schedule, and customer support remains operational for claims and warranty service.

A software change is coming. OnePlus phones are expected to transition from OxygenOS to Oppo’s ColorOS with Android 17. How voluntary this step will be in Europe and North America is not yet entirely clear – there is talk that owners will be able to choose whether to switch to the new system.

The community infrastructure is also facing an end. The American OnePlus Community website and app will shut down on August 16, 2026, while the European community and e-shop remain open for now.

Will you miss OnePlus?
