The OnePlus Nord series has built a reputation for excellent value for money in recent years, and it seems the upcoming generation could further strengthen this trend. Tipster Yogesh Brar revealed on platform X that the OnePlus Nord 6 will arrive as early as early April and will bring significant improvements over last year’s Nord 5 model.

Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 targets the mid-range

The heart of the new Nord 6 should be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, representing a generational leap over the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in its predecessor. According to earlier benchmarks, the new processor should offer approximately 26% higher multi-core performance.

The Nord 6 specifications should largely mirror the Chinese model OnePlus Turbo 6, which was introduced in January. In addition to the powerful chipset, it also features a proprietary G1 gaming Wi-Fi chip, designed to ensure a more stable connection during online gaming.

Display with higher refresh rate

The Nord 6 should feature a 6.78″ AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz. This is 21 Hz more than the Nord 5, which offered a 144Hz panel. The higher refresh rate should be particularly appreciated by gamers, who will be able to enjoy games at a native 165 frames per second on the new device.

The screen should also be slightly smaller than its predecessor, whose display measured 6.83 inches. While a half-inch difference isn’t dramatic, it could make the phone fit better in hand.

Battery: A question mark over the European version

Undoubtedly, the most interesting specification of the Chinese Turbo 6 is its 9000mAh battery. If the same capacity were to make it into the global Nord 6, it would represent an increase of a full 3,800 mAh compared to the European version of Nord 5, which only had a 5,200mAh battery. With such a capacity, the phone would easily last two full days of typical use.

However, it should be noted that the global version might receive a smaller battery due to different regulations in various markets – similar to what happened with the Nord 5, which had a significantly smaller battery in Europe than in other regions. Charging should remain at 80W, matching its predecessor.

Price reportedly going up

Yogesh Brar also indicated that the Nord 6 will be more expensive than the Nord 5. However, he did not mention any specific amount, so we can only speculate. Last year’s model entered our market with a price of 11,990 CZK for the basic configuration with 8GB RAM and 256 GB storage, while the more expensive 12/512GB version cost 13,990 CZK.
