Oppo returns to Czechia with a crazy new feature! The flagship X9 series offers a detachable telephoto lens and huge batteries

After a long time, the Chinese brand Oppo is returning to the Czech market with a completely different strategy than before. Instead of cheaper models, this time it has bet on the flagships Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, which are tasked with competing with top models from Samsung, Xiaomi, or Google. And they bring one very unconventional weapon: a detachable telephoto lens from Hasselblad.

A telephoto lens you attach like a cap

The Find X9 Pro already has solid equipment for long-distance photography. It features a 200-megapixel telephoto lens with 3× optical zoom, which is enough on its own for sharp images of distant objects. But Oppo goes even further, offering an optional Hasselblad Teleconverter Kit – a massive add-on lens that attaches via a special magnetic cover and adds an additional 3.28× zoom.

Not the first attempt, but the most ambitious

The idea of an add-on lens for a smartphone is not new. Xiaomi and Realme showed similar concepts at MWC, and Vivo introduced a similar feature with the X300 series. Manufacturers have hit a ceiling – even with periscopic telephoto lenses inside the phone body, they can’t go further. Detachable accessories are a way to break through this ceiling.

And it’s expected that we’ll see more similar experiments. The only question is whether they will become mainstream or remain a curiosity for enthusiasts.

What the Find X9 and X9 Pro offer

Besides the exotic telephoto lens, both models are well-equipped flagships. The Find X9 Pro features a 6.78″ flat AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Dimensity 9500, 16 GB RAM, and 512GB storage. Battery? Huge – 7,500 mAh with a silicon-carbon anode, meaning two days of battery life and fast 80W wired or 50W wireless charging.

The camera consists of three 50MP sensors (main Sony, ultrawide, and selfie) plus the aforementioned 200MP telephoto lens. It also features IP66, IP68, and IP69 certifications, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and a configurable Quick button.

The basic Find X9 is a bit more modest – it has a smaller 6.59″ display, a 50MP telephoto lens instead of 200MP, and “only” a 7,025mAh battery. Otherwise, the specifications are practically identical.

Price and availability in Czechia

The Oppo Find X9 starts at 999 euros (24,300 CZK) for the 12/256 GB version, while the Find X9 Pro costs 1,299 euros (31,600 CZK) for the 16/512 GB configuration. Both phones are expected to arrive on the Czech market likely in early November 2025.
