Perfect for kids! Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Pad 2 Play Bundle with a tablet and accessories

While most manufacturers develop special tablets for children with limited performance and durable construction, Xiaomi has chosen a different path. In the UK, it started selling the Redmi Pad 2 Play Bundle – a set that combines the recently launched Redmi Pad 2 tablet with child-friendly accessories. The entire package costs 199.90 euros (approximately 4,900 CZK converted).

Matte display protects children’s eyes

The main difference from the standard version is the matte display glass with AG nano texture, which, according to Xiaomi, eliminates up to 97% of light reflections. This allows children to use the tablet outdoors and indoors without eye strain. The screen has received triple TÜV Rheinland certification for eye protection – confirming low blue light levels, flicker-free operation, and support for circadian rhythm. The matte finish has another practical effect – when writing or drawing with a stylus, it simulates the feel of paper.

Stylus without battery and smart features

Included in the package is the Redmi Stylus for Pad, which, unlike more expensive competitors, does not contain a battery or electronics. It functions as a passive stylus, similar to a pencil on paper. For children, this means one advantage – it never runs out of power and is immediately ready for use.

Xiaomi has pre-installed the drawing application bekids Coloring on the tablet. Buyers receive one month of free VIP access, which unlocks premium coloring pages and other features. After the trial period, parents can extend the subscription or use the free version.

Blue cover with stylus holder

The third component of the set is the Redmi Pad 2 Play Cover in blue. Made from silicone material, the cover protects the tablet from drops and impacts, which are inevitable with children. On the back, it features an integrated kickstand for watching videos hands-free.

At the bottom of the cover, there is a stylus compartment, so children won’t constantly lose the pen. A practical detail that parents, tired of searching for lost pencils and pens, will especially appreciate.

Availability currently only in select markets

The Redmi Pad 2 Play Bundle is currently offered by Xiaomi only in select markets, such as the UK and Germany. In our neighboring countries, it costs 199.90 euros, which is about 4,900 CZK converted. Whether this children’s set will also come to the Czech Republic is not yet clear. While Xiaomi commonly sells tablets, including the Redmi Pad 2, in our country, special editions often remain regionally limited.

For comparison – the standalone Redmi Pad 2 in the Czech Republic had a recommended price of 4,499 CZK for the basic version; during sales events, the tablet can be purchased for as low as 2,699 CZK.

What the Redmi Pad 2 tablet offers

The core of the children’s set is the Redmi Pad 2 tablet, which Xiaomi recently launched on the Czech market. The device features an 11-inch display with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. Smooth operation is handled by the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra processor (renamed Helio G99) in combination with Android 15 and the HyperOS 2 overlay.

The tablet stands out primarily with its 9,000mAh battery, which, according to Xiaomi, lasts up to 17 hours of video playback or 22 hours of reading. It also features four speakers with Dolby Atmos support for high-quality sound when watching cartoons or playing games.

In the Czech Republic, the Redmi Pad 2 is sold in two configurations – 4/128 GB for 4,499 CZK and 8/256 GB for 4,999 CZK. The tablet has an aluminum body, weighs 510 grams, and is available in graphite gray or mint green.
