The Chinese brand OnePlus confirmed last week that the global version of its flagship OnePlus 15 will be technically identical to the already unveiled Chinese model. The biggest surprise is the retention of the giant 7,300mAh battery, which the manufacturer officially confirmed on its website. This is in stark contrast to the common practice where global versions of phones receive smaller batteries than their Chinese counterparts – a trend we have repeatedly seen in the past, for example, with Xiaomi smartphones, which often came to international markets with hundreds of mAh less capacity.

OnePlus will not cut battery capacity

The OnePlus 15 features a silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 7,300 mAh, which contains 15% silicon for higher energy density. This is a significant increase compared to the 6,000mAh battery of its predecessor, the OnePlus 13. The phone supports 120W SuperVOOC wired charging and 50W AirVOOC wireless charging. The manufacturer promises that the battery will retain at least 80% of its original capacity after four years of use and can reliably operate even at temperatures as low as -20 °C.

Breakthrough 165Hz Display, First on the Market

One of the most promoted features of the phone is its 6.78″ LTPO OLED panel with a resolution of 2,772 × 1,272 pixels. Its combination with an unusually high 165Hz refresh rate, according to the manufacturer, represents an absolute premiere in the mobile industry (although a 165Hz panel itself has been used by several gaming phones in the past). The screen offers a maximum brightness of 1,800 nits in high-brightness mode and a minimum brightness of just 1 nit for comfortable reading in the dark. The panel has received TÜV Rheinland certification for eye care and includes a special gaming Eye Comfort Mode.

OnePlus promises that the new phone will be able to run Call of Duty: Mobile, Brawl Stars, and Clash of Clans at 165 fps. In other titles, a constant 120 fps should be available, reportedly without a single frame drop. The manufacturer emphasizes that the phone will remain comfortable to touch regardless of gaming duration, thanks to its advanced cooling system.

Powerful Hardware with Advanced Cooling

Under the hood, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 operates in conjunction with a dedicated touch chip enabling a 3,200Hz touch sampling rate. The phone also includes a separate Wi-Fi chip for stable connectivity in congested networks. Heat dissipation is handled by a 360° Cryo-Velocity cooling system with a 3D vapor chamber covering an area of 5,731 mm², an aerogel insulation layer adopted from the aerospace industry, and a graphite back for even heat distribution.

Latest Software with Long-Term Support

The phone will arrive with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, making it among the first devices with the latest version of Google’s system. OnePlus promises four years of major operating system updates and five years of security patches.

Maximum Durability with Four Certifications

The OnePlus 15 comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications for dust and water resistance. This combination ensures protection not only against water immersion but also against high-pressure hot water jets, which is still a rarity among flagship phones.

Availability and Expected Price

The global unveiling of the OnePlus 15 will take place on November 13th at 2:30 PM local time. The manufacturer has not yet confirmed prices for the European market, but in China, the phone starts at 3,999 yuan (about 11,700 CZK without tax) for the base version with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. In the Czech market, the price for the base model could be around 25–26 thousand Czech crowns, if the manufacturer maintains a similar pricing strategy as with previous generations.

Were you surprised by the retention of the large battery in the global version?
