POCO F8 will be a true flagship killer! It will get the best chip of today and will (probably) be cheap again

After months of speculation, concrete details about the POCO F8 are finally emerging. According to leaker Abhishek Yadav, it will get the full-fledged Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 – not a cut-down “s” version like the current F7. This is a fundamental change in strategy.

Redmi K90 = POCO F8, a classic trick

Poco F8 will be nothing more than a rebranded Redmi K90. This is no surprise – Xiaomi has been doing it for years. The Redmi K series in China becomes Poco F globally. Only the logo and software are changed.

Model numbers confirm this:

• 2510DRK44C – Redmi K90 for China
• 2510DRK44G – Poco F8 Global
• 2510DRK44I – Poco F8 for India

All three versions have the codename “annibale” – like the Carthaginian general Hannibal. Xiaomi likes historical names for its phones.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5: finally without compromises

The current Poco F7 has Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 – a cut-down version of the flagship chipset. The F8 will get the full Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. This is not just a minor improvement, but a massive leap.

The Poco F8 will thus be on par with current flagships in terms of performance. For probably half the price.

Poco breaks boundaries again

The Poco F8 looks like a game changer in the mid-range. Flagship chipset, fast charging, and a reasonable price – that’s a recipe for a bestseller.

If you are looking for a powerful phone and don’t want to pay 30 thousand for a flagship, the Poco F8 will be a clear choice. Just wait until spring 2026.
