They offer a fantastic price-to-performance ratio Home News POCO today introduced a pair of new phones, the X8 Pro Max and X8 Pro, both with 100W charging and IP69 resistance The Pro Max model brings the flagship Dimensity 9500s chipset and an 8,500 mAh battery, which is expected to last two days Czech prices start at 9,299 CZK for the X8 Pro, with introductory discounts of up to 1,800 CZK valid until the end of March Sdílejte: Jakub Kárník Published: 17. 3. 2026 07:30 Advertisement POCO today officially unveiled its new X8 Pro series, in two variants. The POCO X8 Pro Max is the very first model with the Pro Max moniker in the brand’s history and targets customers who want flagship performance at a mid-range price. Alongside it stands the classic POCO X8 Pro, a more compact and cheaper alternative with still decent features. Both phones are immediately available in the Czech Republic. Dimensity 9500s debuts on the global market A battery that makes you forget your charger Displays with 3,500 nits brightness and eye protection Durability with four certifications and design with RGB lighting 50Mpx camera and a few extra AI tricks HyperOS 3 with bonuses from Google and Spotify Czech prices and introductory discounts Dimensity 9500s debuts on the global market The main draw of the larger model is the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, which makes its debut in the POCO X8 Pro Max outside of China. It is a slightly trimmed-down version of the flagship Dimensity 9500, manufactured using a 3nm process, with one Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.73 GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores at 3.3 GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.4 GHz. Graphics are handled by the Immortalis-G925 MC11 GPU. In the AnTuTu benchmark, POCO measured over 3 million points, which is territory typically occupied by phones twice the price. The smaller POCO X8 Pro opted for the Dimensity 8500 Ultra, which is about 16% more powerful in AnTuTu compared to its predecessor. While not flagship silicon, it’s more than sufficient for everyday use and gaming. Both models are complemented by fast LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage, which is an above-standard combination for this price category. A battery that makes you forget your charger The POCO X8 Pro Max boasts the largest battery in the brand’s history — 8,500 mAh. The manufacturer promises two-day battery life on a single charge, and while such figures are always conditional on specific usage patterns, with such a capacity, it’s realistic that you truly won’t think about your charger every evening. After 1,600 charging cycles, the battery is expected to retain over 80% of its capacity, which corresponds to approximately six years of operation. The X8 Pro model is more modest with 6,500 mAh, but even that is an above-average capacity. Both phones share 100W wired charging (HyperCharge) and 27W wired reverse charging, so in an emergency, they can serve as a power bank for headphones, watches, or even another phone. However, the charging adapter is not included in the package. KOUPIT VÝHODNĚ NOVÉ POCO Displays with 3,500 nits brightness and eye protection The POCO X8 Pro Max features a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits (on 25% of the area). The smaller X8 Pro offers a 6.59-inch panel with the same parameters — identical resolution, brightness, and frequency. Both displays use M10 panels with a new type of red luminescent material, which is designed to increase luminous efficiency while reducing energy consumption. Also noteworthy is 3,840 Hz PWM dimming and triple TÜV Rheinland certification for eye protection. Additionally, for the Pro Max model, POCO implemented an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, while the X8 Pro settles for a classic optical one. Durability with four certifications and design with RGB lighting Both phones are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and meet four durability certifications: IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K. The latter means protection even against high-pressure hot water jets — so if your phone falls into boiling soup, it should theoretically survive. The Pro Max model also adds a five-star SGS certification for resistance to drops, pressure, and bending. In terms of design, both models share a minimalist line with a camera module inspired by “water ripples,” complemented by dynamic RGB lighting. This reacts to notifications, charging, music, and games. The POCO X8 Pro Max combines a metal frame with a fiberglass material back panel, while the X8 Pro offers a plastic frame. Both come in three color variants — black, white, and blue for the Pro Max, and mint green for the X8 Pro. 50Mpx camera and a few extra AI tricks The photographic equipment in both models is built around a 50Mpx main sensor — the Pro Max uses the Light Fusion 600 sensor, while the standard Pro uses the proven Sony IMX882. In both cases, there is also an 8Mpx wide-angle lens and a 20Mpx selfie camera. HyperOS 3 with bonuses from Google and Spotify Both phones run Android 16 with the Xiaomi HyperOS 3 overlay. Notable features include Xiaomi HyperConnect for connecting with other devices (including Macs), Google’s Circle to Search, the Gemini voice assistant, and also the quite interesting Xiaomi Offline Communication feature, which allows voice calls even without mobile signal. KOUPIT VÝHODNĚ NOVÉ POCO Also new is Ticket Purchase Mode, which optimizes phone responsiveness when buying tickets during high demand — it is said to arrive via an OTA update sometime in May. Additionally, POCO bundles a trial version of Spotify Premium and two months of free access to YouTube Premium with the phones.
