Looking for gaming headphones that sound decent and don’t cost a fortune? SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3 now cost 1,554 CZK with code ALZADNY40 instead of 2,590 CZK – that’s 1,036 crowns cheaper. For that price, it’s one of the better deals from an established brand.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you want a lightweight headset with good spatial sound, a retractable microphone, and rich Sonar software for a reasonable price.
⚠️ Consider that the included cable is a weakness, the SteelSeries GG application can be troublesome, and they don’t have active noise cancellation (ANC), only software filtering.
💡 For 1,554 CZK with code ALZADNY40, you save over a thousand and get headphones tuned primarily for gaming.

What you get for that money

The core consists of 40mm drivers and sound tuned primarily for games. Spatial sound is compatible with Tempest 3D Audio on PS5 and Microsoft Spatial Sound, so you can reliably distinguish footsteps and opponent direction. The SteelSeries Sonar software with a 10-band parametric equalizer and ready-made presets serves for fine-tuning – for some, it’s fun, for others, a necessary evil. The construction is lightweight, the earcups use AirWeave memory foam and can be rotated for easy transport, volume and microphone controls are directly on the earcup. The retractable microphone with noise cancellation sounds clear according to most reviews and is out of sight when retracted into the earcup. Connectivity is provided by USB-C, and the package includes adapters for USB-A and a 3.5mm jack, so you can connect a PC, Mac, PlayStation, and mobile. Also included is RGB PrismSync with 16.8 million colors and synchronization with other SteelSeries devices.

Things to consider

A few things upfront. The most common complaint from owners is about the included cable – it’s stiff, gets in the way, and tends to fall apart at the connector over time. Fortunately, it’s detachable, so you can replace it anytime. Some users also report that the USB-C connector in the headphones themselves gets damaged after a year or two. The software can also be troublesome sometimes: SteelSeries GG sometimes switches the sound to monitor speakers without asking, and after a computer restart, it’s often necessary to unplug and re-plug the headphones for the microphone to work. Some people hear a faint hum in the headphones when RGB is on. And pay attention to one detail: Alza lists ANC for the model, but the manufacturer doesn’t promise active noise cancellation – it’s just software filtering, which you won’t even be able to use with a mobile phone without the app. Don’t expect wireless connectivity; it wouldn’t fit into this price range.

For gaming with good spatial sound and a decent microphone for under 1,600 CZK, this is a successful purchase. Just be prepared to likely replace the cable over time and spend some time with the software.

Do you game with a headset, or do you prefer speakers and a separate microphone?
