Practical smart light from IKEA dropped below two hundred crowns. What is it good for? Home News IKEA reduced the price of the YTBERG smart lamp from 229 CZK to 199 CZK The 13% discount is also confirmed on the product page by the independent price comparison site Hlídač Shopů The lamp supports wireless dimming and integration into the IKEA Home smart ecosystem Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 17. 5. 2026 22:30 Advertisement Lighting the top of a wardrobe or a glass bookcase is one of those small things you usually only remember when you’re looking for a favorite book or decoration in the corner of the room. IKEA has a light fixture in its catalog that solves this problem – and it’s also cheaper since the beginning of the month. The smart lamp YTBERG, after a recent price reduction, has fallen below the symbolic threshold of two hundred crowns. It no longer costs two hundred crowns, the discount is also confirmed by Hlídač Shopů Thin, flexible, and connectable to a mobile phone It no longer costs two hundred crowns, the discount is also confirmed by Hlídač Shopů On the IKEA website, the YTBERG lamp is currently selling for 199 CZK, while the original price was 229 CZK. A discount of approximately 13% is not overwhelming in itself, but because the lamp fell below the two hundred crown mark, it appears significantly more attractive. The promotion is valid from May 5, 2026 and applies to both white and black variants. The discount is also confirmed by the Hlídač shopů portal. Thin, flexible, and connectable to a mobile phone YTBERG is designed to fit into places where a classic lamp wouldn’t – for example, between the top of a wardrobe and the ceiling. The slim arm can be bent by 180° and the shade itself can be tilted by another 90°, allowing you to direct the light exactly where you need it. The sliding bracket also allows the lamp to be moved sideways, and installation can be done either traditionally with screws or with double-sided adhesive tape for glass or metal. In terms of smart features, YTBERG is a full-fledged part of the IKEA Home smart platform. After connecting to the DIRIGERA hub and the app, it can be controlled from a mobile phone, wirelessly dimmed, or integrated into automations along with other smart products from the Swedish chain. However, for full utilization, an LED transformer (ANSLUTA, or TRÅDFRI for dimming) and possibly a remote control need to be purchased separately – IKEA sells these separately. The lamp has a built-in LED with a lifespan of around 25,000 hours, which corresponds to approximately twenty years of operation when lit for three hours a day. The rating on the IKEA website is currently very solid (4.9 out of 5), albeit from a relatively small number of reviews. Who is it for? If you are already building a smart home from IKEA and are looking for discreet lighting above a wardrobe, bookcase, or work surface, the YTBERG for 199 CZK is a reasonable choice. However, those who do not have IKEA’s smart infrastructure must expect to pay several times the price of the light fixture itself for the necessary accessories – and in such a case, it is more worthwhile to opt for a simpler battery-powered alternative like KÖLVATTEN. Would you get a smart lamp for your wardrobe, or is a classic one enough for you?
