Redmi K100 might offer an incredible 10,000mAh battery

  • One of the upcoming Redmi K100 series models is reportedly testing a battery with a capacity of around 10,000 mAh
  • Such a capacity is to be enabled by a denser silicon-carbon battery, thanks to which the phone does not have to be thicker
  • The K series does not officially arrive in the Czech Republic – here it will most likely be replaced by a rebranded POCO

Leaks surrounding the next generation of powerful Redmi phones are increasing. A well-known informant claims that Xiaomi is testing a battery with a capacity of around 10,000 mAh in the lab for one of the upcoming Redmi K100 series phones. However, this is a figure from the preparatory phase, so the final capacity may still change before launch.

Redmi K100 and a battery like no other in a mobile phone

The information was first published by the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, cited by the Chinese server IT Home. According to him, one of the models in the upcoming series should offer a battery of around 10,000 mAh, while earlier leaks spoke “only” of a capacity above 8,000 mAh. However, it still holds that we are talking about a test unit, not a finished phone ready for sale.

The key to such a large energy reserve is to be a silicon-carbon battery. This can store more energy in the same space than a conventional lithium-ion battery, so the capacity will increase without the phone having to be significantly thicker or heavier. More brands have been going this route lately – Honor, for example, also demonstrated a large battery in a reasonably thin body.

What’s rumored about the rest of the features

The battery isn’t the only draw. Earlier leaks attribute to the phone up to a seven-inch display with 2K resolution, a high refresh rate of around 185 Hz, a powerful Snapdragon chip, a 200Mpx camera, wireless charging, and IP68 and IP69 resistance. However, these are all just speculations for now, and it is said that a higher price than what we have been used to with the K series must also be expected.

And will the Redmi K100 arrive in the Czech Republic?

The Redmi K series always heads to China first and usually doesn’t make it to Europe under its own name – Xiaomi typically rebrands it as POCO here. Thus, the phone under the Redmi K100 designation will almost certainly not appear in Czech distribution, and whether its European clone will get at least a similarly large battery, we do not yet know.
