Samsung confirmed Galaxy Ring 2. The smart ring could finally work with iPhone Home News Samsung has officially confirmed for the first time that it is working on the second generation of its smart ring According to estimates, Galaxy Ring 2 is expected to focus mainly on longer battery life, a thinner body, and more accurate sensors It could work with iPhone for the first time, but it will not hit the market until 2027 at the earliest Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 3. 7. 2026 10:30 Advertisement Smart rings are slowly gaining ground as an inconspicuous alternative to watches – they still measure heart rate, sleep, and blood oxygen, yet you barely feel them on your hand, and those around you don’t notice them much. Samsung entered this category in 2024 with the first Galaxy Ring, and its head of the health division has now officially admitted for the first time that a sequel is in the works. Galaxy Ring 2 will arrive no earlier than 2027 and should also entice with one feature that was noticeably missing for owners of the original generation. Who confirmed Galaxy Ring 2? The fact that the second generation of the ring is being developed was revealed in an interview with Forbes magazine by Samsung’s head of health division, Dr. Hon Pak, whose words were highlighted by Android Authority. According to him, however, the next ring will not differ so much in hardware as in what the brand builds on top of it – the key will reportedly not be sensors, but services. “Sensors today are not fundamentally different; it’s mainly about what services you build on top of them,” he said. The company thus indicates that it wants a connected ecosystem of devices rather than a single all-rounder: the ring is primarily intended to monitor sleep and daily health data in conjunction with Samsung Health, while more demanding sports and notifications will remain with watches. What should Galaxy Ring 2 offer? Samsung has naturally not revealed specific parameters, so for now, we are relying only on leaks and estimates – take them with a grain of salt. The biggest improvement is expected in battery life: while the original ring lasts about seven days on a charge, its successor should reach approximately nine to ten days. There are even speculations about a “dream” solid-state battery, which would hold more energy at the same size – its density could reportedly jump from 200 to 360 Wh/l. In addition to battery life, the ring should become thinner and lighter thanks to better arranged components and measure more accurately – the brand is reportedly investing mainly in the accuracy of sleep and body temperature measurement and wearing comfort. Blood sugar level measurement is also reportedly in play, but this technology will most likely not make it into Galaxy Ring 2 and will probably arrive later. For comparison: the first Galaxy Ring weighs around three grams, is made of titanium, and offers nine sizes. Meanwhile, the competition is not sleeping – at the end of May, the Oura Ring 5 arrived, boasting the title of the smallest smart ring in the world. Samsung confirmed Galaxy Ring 2. The smart ring could finally work with iPhone Adam Kurfürst News Adam Kurfürst News Will it finally work with iPhone? Here comes perhaps the most interesting hint. The original Galaxy Ring only works with Android phones, and iPhone owners were out of luck. However, when Pak was asked whether the ring would open up to other platforms, he merely smiled and said he couldn’t reveal anything, but “people will be excited about some of the upcoming news.” So, nothing definitive – yet it sounds like a quite clear signal that Galaxy Ring 2 could work with iPhone for the first time. For smart rings, this would make sense: unlike watches, they are an inconspicuous accessory that even Apple users who don’t desire an Apple Watch might opt for. When will Galaxy Ring 2 be released and what about the Czech Republic? Moreover, Samsung is not only competing in the market. Last year, American Oura sued it along with other smart ring manufacturers for alleged patent infringement – and this dispute could also delay the release date. Samsung confirmed Galaxy Ring 2. Speculations agree that the ring will not arrive this year and will be on shelves no earlier than the beginning of 2027, possibly alongside the flagship Galaxy S27 series. Samsung has not confirmed the price or Czech availability; the original model, which sold for 11 499 Kč in the Czech Republic, can serve as a guide.
