Samsung Galaxy S26+ to launch instead of ultra-thin Edge. This is what it will look like Home News OnLeaks, in collaboration with Android Headlines, exclusively published CAD renders of the Galaxy S26+ Samsung is definitively returning to the proven trio of models without the ultra-thin Edge The phone will feature a 6.7" display and a vertical pill-shaped camera island Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 10. 11. 2025 13:30 Advertisement Known leaker OnLeaks, in collaboration with Android Headlines, has published the first official CAD renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26+. The leak confirms that the South Korean giant is returning to its proven portfolio of three models after the failure of the Galaxy S25 Edge. Instead of the originally speculated Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Edge, and S26 Ultra, next year we will get the classic trio of Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung returns to proven standards As we informed you in October, Samsung has definitively canceled the development of the ultra-thin Galaxy S26 Edge. The reason was the catastrophic sales figures of its predecessor – only 1.31 million units of the Galaxy S25 Edge were sold from May to August, while the Ultra model achieved 12.18 million units sold in the same period. The manufacturer has therefore decided to return to the traditional format that customers prefer. The Galaxy S26+ will thus replace the originally planned Galaxy S26 Edge, but with a different design and, understandably, greater thickness. While the Edge was supposed to offer an extremely thin body, the new Plus model has dimensions of 158.4 × 75.7 × 7.35 mm, which is still a thin design, but not as extreme as the canceled (or at least postponed) device. Galaxy S26+: Camera island as the main visual change The most significant design novelty compared to the Galaxy S25+ is the unification of three independently existing rear cameras into a raised pill-shaped island. It closely resembles the design used by foldable models in the Galaxy Z Fold series. The front, in any case, will retain its proven design with a 6.7-inch flat display and a centered punch-hole for the selfie camera. The phone’s premium look is also ensured by thin bezels and flat sides with a slight curve for better grip. Samsung Galaxy S26+ to launch instead of ultra-thin Edge. This is what it will look like Adam Kurfürst News Adam Kurfürst News OnLeaks also showcased the Galaxy S26+ in a striking orange color, which strikingly resembles the Cosmic Orange shade of the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro series. However, this is merely a visual representation for rendering purposes. Even known insider Max Jambor on X confirmed that it is unlikely Samsung would actually launch the phone in such a color. Hardware specifications still uncertain According to the leak, the Galaxy S26+ will be part of Samsung’s dual processor strategy. In some regions, it will receive Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while in others, its own Exynos 2600 (likely in our region as well). 12 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage are expected. The cameras should remain similar to its predecessor – a 50Mpx main sensor, a 12Mpx ultrawide lens, and a 10 or 12Mpx telephoto lens. The battery will retain its 4,900 mAh capacity with support for 45W wired and 15W wireless charging via the Qi2 standard. When will it be released? According to recent reports, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26 series on February 25, 2026, in San Francisco, a month later than usual. The reason for the delay is the change in product strategy and the additional development of the Galaxy S26+ model, which had to replace the canceled Edge.
