Would you like to bring back footage from your vacation or trip that your phone can’t capture handheld? The compact Potensic Atom 4K drone is on sale again for the first time since August. With code ALZADNY20, you can get it at Alza for 5,992 CZK instead of 7,490 CZK, which represents a 20% discount. Alza has not sold it for less than 5,990 CZK in the last year.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense for beginners and travelers who want 4K aerial footage and a compact drone for their backpack.
⚠️ Consider that the drone does not monitor obstacles all around, and for service, Alza refers to the manufacturer’s European support.
💡 At 5,992 CZK, the Atom 4K returns to its lowest price level in the last year.

4K video, 3-axis gimbal, and 32 minutes in the air

According to the manufacturer, the heart of the drone is a 1/3-inch Sony sensor, which records video in 4K at 30 frames per second. It can only handle smoother footage at 60 frames in Full HD. Photos are 12 Mpx and can also be saved in RAW format, which will be appreciated by anyone who likes to edit their images. The image is kept steady by a mechanical 3-axis gimbal, the same type of stabilization found in more expensive drones. The four-times zoom that Alza mentions is only digital, so image quality decreases with its use.

The manufacturer promises up to 32 minutes of flight on a single charge and a transmission range of 6 km in open terrain without interference. The Atom 4K can reach speeds of up to 57.6 km/h, withstand Level 5 winds, and automatically fly back to its take-off point. It also features object tracking and pre-programmed circular and spiral flights, allowing you to capture impressive shots even without flying experience.

Weighs under 250 grams and belongs to the mildest C0 class

A weight under 250 grams is not just for convenience. The drone is classified into the European C0 class and flies in subcategory A1, where the fewest restrictions apply. However, because it carries a camera, you, as the operator, must register with the Civil Aviation Authority. Registration is online and free.

In practice, the Atom 4K is mainly suitable for three situations. On vacation, its foldable design makes it easy to pack into a backpack. As a first drone, it serves those who want to try flying and don’t want to immediately spend on more expensive brands. And one customer even uses it to inspect a roof that would otherwise be inaccessible. The package includes only one battery, spare propellers, and a controller into which you can mount your mobile phone.

Customers praise the price, but have reservations about the range

On Alza, the Atom 4K has a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 138 customers, and 91% of them recommend it. Over 500 units have been sold, and Alza reports a return rate of 3.61%.

Among fifty written reviews, satisfaction with the price-to-performance ratio, stable image, and battery life, which many people report to be around 30 minutes, is frequently mentioned. However, one Slovak customer measured closer to 22 to 25 minutes. Some people complain that the promised 6 km range is far from reality. In a typical environment, they say the signal starts to drop after one to two kilometers, and image transmission to the mobile phone can stutter, even if the recording on the card remains fine. However, regulations still require you to keep the drone in sight, so this will limit most people less than it might seem.

A customer with 120 flight hours points out that the drone primarily relies on you. It lacks sensors that would monitor obstacles all around (according to some owners, only from the front and bottom), so flying among or under trees requires caution. A few people also miss Czech language support in the app and manual. One owner also advises buying a second battery, or even opting for the Full combo variant, which, according to owners, includes three batteries and a bag.

It doesn’t monitor obstacles all around, and service goes through the manufacturer

Anyone who wants a drone that avoids obstacles on its own, or expects service directly from the retailer, might be disappointed with the Atom 4K. While warranty claims are handled through Alza, for service, Alza refers directly to the manufacturer’s European support in the offer. Furthermore, Potensic is already selling a successor. We wrote about the Potensic Atom2 drone in April, when it was on sale for 6,709 CZK.

At 5,992 CZK, it makes sense mainly for beginners

If you want your first drone that shoots 4K video, takes up little space when folded, and won’t break the bank, the Atom 4K for 5,992 CZK with code ALZADNY20 is one of the more reasonable choices. It’s suitable for travelers and families on trips. Experienced pilots who fly in challenging terrain and need sensors or a longer range will be happier with more expensive competitors. You can find the current price of the Potensic Atom 4K on Alza.

Have you ever flown a drone before, or would the Atom 4K be your first?
