The new SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2 has arrived in the Czech Republic. Here are three reasons why it's being talked about

  • The SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2 maintains its ultralight weight of 68 grams and honeycomb design, but everything inside is new
  • Main improvements? TrueMove 26K sensor, 4 kHz wireless polling rate, and up to 200 hours of battery life via Bluetooth
  • The price of 2,749 CZK positions the mouse against competitors like the Endgame Gear OP1w 4K or Razer Viper V3 Pro — and it holds its own at this price point

The market for ultralight gaming mice has thickened in the last two years. While mice under 70 grams used to be more of an exception for professional players, today they are abundant. SteelSeries enters a new round with its Aerox 3 Wireless Gen 2 priced at 2,749 CZK. Visually from the outside, you won’t notice many changes — it’s still the honeycomb Aerox you know. But almost nothing inside has remained in place.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you are looking for an ultralight wireless mouse for FPS games with above-average battery life. SteelSeries GG software offers a practical Sensitivity Finder and 3D Aim Trainer for optimizing sensitivity for individual games.
⚠️ Consider that the 4 kHz polling rate is not enabled by default, and when activated, battery life drops to 35 hours. The honeycomb design might seem outdated compared to competitors’ closed designs.
💡 For 2,749 CZK you get a mouse weighing 68g, an optical TrueMove 26K sensor (26,000 DPI, 400 IPS, 40G), six programmable buttons with switches rated for 80 million clicks, three-zone RGB, IP54 resistance, and tri-mode connectivity (USB-C / 2.4 GHz / Bluetooth 5.0).

What has changed inside

Three key upgrades. The sensor is the new TrueMove 26K with a resolution of up to 26,000 DPI (compared to the predecessor’s 18,000 DPI), a speed of 400 IPS, and an acceleration of 40G. For casual gaming, 26,000 DPI is an absurdly high number, and competitive players typically use around 800–1,600 DPI anyway. However, the new sensor is more sensitive and consistent within the common range.

The second change is the 4 kHz wireless polling rate compared to the standard 1 kHz of the old version. For the average player, this isn’t a game-changer, but for players in fast-paced FPS titles, every millisecond counts. The third — and perhaps most practical — is battery life. SteelSeries promises up to 200 hours via Bluetooth or 120 hours at 1 kHz in 2.4 GHz. If you enable 4 kHz, the battery life drops to approximately 35 hours, which is still enough for a full gaming week.

For whom and for how much

Voštinová konstrukce není pro každého — někomu chybí celistvý vzhled a uzavřené tělo.

The price of 2,749 CZK places the Aerox 3 WL Gen 2 in the mid-range. The Razer Viper V3 Pro costs around 4 thousand, the Endgame Gear OP1w 4K is in a similar price range and has a better PixArt PMW-3950 sensor, but it doesn’t offer 200 hours of battery life or Bluetooth. If you need one mouse for both your gaming PC and occasional use with a laptop via Bluetooth, it’s a great choice.

Does the honeycomb design bother you, or is it just a practical way to save grams for you?
